Andrew Kenny covers 'Angel Sigh'

Post by Jebus Sabes »

Presumably Andrew Kenny from the American Analog Set?

Never Lose That Feeling #1
(AC302052) Sep 12th 2005

Never Lose That Feeling #1 is the first volume of three sixteen track compilation cds of contemporary artists that we love covering noisy indie classics from the late eighties, early nineties. Everyone from Spiritualized to Swervedriver through Ride, Curve, House Of Love, My Bloody Valentine and of course Slowdive are given a modern twist by such AC30 favourites as Ulrich Schnauss, Douglas Heart and Amusement Parks On Fire.

Click here to listen to a few tracks (requires flash). We'll switch these around from time to time.

Released in North America through Clairecords and on AC30 elsewhere.

Track Listing
1. ANDREW KENNY (USA) - Angel Sigh (Spiritualized)
2. WINDERMERE (Den) - Coast Is Clear (Curve)

I never knew The Ecstasy Of Saint Theresa were still going. John Peel played them a lot.

I believe they're doing a lot of stuff with British Sea Power lately. At least, they seem to feature an awful lot in BSP's mailouts...

come on guys, i have barked about them many times on the board(!)

they recently released a dvd too...

and yes they are collaborating with British Sea Power.

i have heard their cover of Telescopes - it's a more acoustic than the original song. but kind of too distant, i say Theresa's missed their hit and somehow did a "middle of the road" version.

:D if any record is a complete copy and paste of "Loveless" then it's Theresa's "Sussurate". :D

Juzba - what happened to one of their singers, she was finnish?!?!

anyway........ http://www.eost.cz/index-en.php

The album is now available on iTunes. Are there any non-iTunes samples online for the Andrew Kenny version of 'Angel Sigh'? I'm keen to hear what it sounds like.

I received my copy of Never Lose That Feeling in the post a few days ago and it's really good. I could make the Angel Sigh cover available to listen to but need help in going about it. I am clueless . . .

Totally. You introduced them to me. I would agree on your decription Veiko. That Self-Titled album has that really spacey warped vibe. They take the mbv style to that next ambient step.

I've changed the Club AC30 music stream player thing on the http://www.clubac30.com website (click on the listen link) so that the first track on there is Angel Sigh covered by Andrew Kenny so y'all can listen to it.

Enjoy.
