i got a copy of the set on cd, and there was however many (sixteen?) tracks that meant that the famous unknown one was missing - is there any chance of a rapidshare upload? i'd love to hear it. breezeblocks are such a goldmine, the bbc should dedicate a site or a channel to them.

ha ha, o k, not rapidshare ... sorry champ. i haven't got internet access outside of the lirary at the moment, so occasional flashdiskable downloads are a treat.

i'd love to hear it, anyway. is it a little folky instrumental or something?

No, it has the most amazing vocal you will ever hear. I think it's an old calypso song, pre 1960s. It has a really sad, haunted quality...

I think.

Northern, what other tunes were on your copy? Are they gaps between the tunes?

right, well; it's not at hand (i'm in the library; it smells of deoderant and the other computers are occupied by people looking at pictures of horses), but it's the same tracklisting as below, there are gaps, and it definitely is a recreation of the original mix, rather than a recording. i heard a story from a board-ee about mary anne hobbs interrupting a change is gonna come and the needle being put back to the start on the original broadcast.

the song sounds really interesting anyway; if there's a copy floating around perhaps ben could help us work out what it is. i'd love to know where j found 'satan theme' from the angel dust soundtrack, too.

Nice one cheers for that, I heard a long, long time ago that the missing track was "come sofftly to me" by the fleetwoods but I dont know if thats true or not? I had a day on limewire trying to download them all and recreate it. The Saints track is quality. i love the story about him cueing up Sam Cooke again. Fair play! Breezeblocks are such a great way if hearing new music!

yeah, what he said. I tried different searches with no success on Acquisition and SoulSeek. My apologies to Lars Ulrich. :o
