My top 5 =
Mozarella
Port Salut
Roquefort
Bavarian Smoked
Mature West Country Cheddar
(sorry!)

The smelly cheeses are my favourite. The kind that you have to use a spoon for to get it onto your plate. Also, forget any cheese made with pasteurised milk. The equivolent of non-alcoholic wine or beer.
Top 5 in no particular order
Munster
Livarot
Vacherin
Normandy Camembert
Brie
I suspect Orbital might have something to say on this subject.

I do like cheese. Normally have a few different kinds in the fridge at any time.
No one has yet mentioned parmesan. Finely grated over just about any Pasta dish can lift it so much.
Wensleydale with cranberries is a favourite of mine on Bran oatcakes. Top.
A nice bit of extra strong black diamond cheddar for the no-nonsense deal
melted on toast.
Brie as its a lovely creamy comforting taste.
Finally Id have to go for feta you can bung in a nice big bowl of salad.
wensleydale with orange is real nice too

You've got the right idea about cheese as far as I'm concerned mate!ORBITAL wrote:I do like cheese. Normally have a few different kinds in the fridge at any time.

Feta makes the difference between a good bowl of salad and a great one (so does balsamic vinegar).
Parmesan is the best grated in with Angel Hair or Liguini, loads of garlic, and some olive oil. (Thanks Gwen)
Cranberry Wensleydale on Bran oatcakes... YES!
Cheese on toast is the best snack ever, the stronger the cheddar the better.
Reckon I'll have to hunt down some Wensleydale with orange, sounds like a good'un.
Hooray for cheese. And Special Brew. Damn I'm pissed!
