Any Way that You Want Me

Post by ryandfl »

Hey. Would anyone be willing to make the Troggs' version of "Any Way that You Want Me" available. For some reason I've been preoccupied with the song for the last week and a half, and I'd really love to get my hands on the original.

Thanks

I mean, I looked it up and the earliest recording seems to be the Troggs in 1966. Evie Sands recorded it in 1969. Chip Taylor didn't record it until the 90's. I'm not saying that I definitely know what the original was, but wouldn't this information tend to imply that the Troggs' version was the first?

Anyway, Laz69, could you make the Evie Sands' version available?

Thanks very much! You're right Laz69, the track is pretty hot.

Does anyone other than A.B.Noise have the Troggs version?

Errr, I've got the Troggs version. Don't know how to upload it though. If it's easy and someone explains it I'll stick it up.....

I've got to be honest, I don't really rate the Troggs version. Spiritualized's version pisses on it from a great height.

1. Rip the Troggs song to MP3 (if not already)
2. go to http://www.yousendit.com
3. enter your email address
4. select Browse and find the file you want to share
5. wait patiently until upload completes
6. copy link given after upload completes
7. paste it in here

Thanks! Great version of the song - probably best version I've heard but can't compare right now as only have 12" of Spz and no working record player to play it on :(
I'm like Evel Knievel, I get paid for the attempt. I didn't promise this shit would be good!

I just found the CD version on eBay for £30...is this rarer than the vinyl or is the seller vastly over-valuing it? Pretty sure I paid around £5 for mine.

Yeah I got a copy for £4.99 at Reckless fairly recently. Ebay is so overpriced these days.

Here's The Troggs version of Anyway You Want Me...sounds pretty turgid compared with Evie Sands :(

Thanks for posting that, nice to hear it after all these years. Glad I will never, ever have to again! The Evie Sands one is beautiful though. I've never heard of her before. Beautiful voice.

Evie Sands

Post by rameses »

I downloaded the Evie Sands version of "Any Way..." ages ago and have only just listened to it (in fact it's on now).

How absolutely fucking brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Just what I needed.

I'm going to listen to it again.

Any recommendations for anythingelse by her that I should try and track do?
It's nice to be liked,
But it's better by far to get paid.

Get her album titled "Anyway You Want Me"

Its got a whole bunch of fantastic songs on it including the amazing "I Can't Let Go" which Mr Kember borrowed from for "How You Satisfy Me"
Great album.
She played in Glasgow earlier this year with the BMX Bandits/Teenage Fanclub as her backing band and it was amazing. I have a radio session of her and them playing on Radio Scotland around that time. I can dig that out if you dig the rest of her stuff.

I'll second that...you need to hear I Can't Let it Go...though possibly for all the wrong reasons...but on the upside she sings the definitive version of Any Way You Want Me :D
