Warlocks Gear Nicked

Post by purespace » Mon Sep 11, 2006 10:05 pm

Just got a message from Chirs Barrus' list serv from Bobby of The Warlocks. Seems he's had a Brian Jonestown Massacre styled crock handed to him. Attention anyone in the LA Echo Park area:

Passing the message along...

Hi everybody, this is not a joke or anything, I came home today to
find my apartment broken into, burglarized and practically destroyed.
Straight out of stalker film.. All my guitars, gear - stolen, my
modular synthesizers stolen- about 7-10k in stuff

- but no DVDs, Records, CDs, or things like computers, wallet, credit
cards or stuff like that- you know easy things to sell / get cash-.

It was all music gear related and unique, 35 year old Vox guitars (4)
gone, Gretsch (1) keyboards and (1 or 2) master reels are missing
(could be just they grabbed this stuff random)

Also they apparently spent some time in here as all my music notes
(10 years worth!), art, just papers, bills, and stuff (seriously its
this crazy) scattered EVERYWHERE/MISSING/STOLEN went through-as if
somebody was looking for something...

So weird and scary!

The police are dealing with it. But Im reaching out to you for help,
if you know anything or saw anything in the (echo park area) - please
let me know. So the authorities have something more to go on.

But- please just the facts, if you know something, saw something,
heard something factual, let me know ASAP, take care and thanks

BH
I think I feel it coming on

in case anyone missed the update, the same happened to dinosaur a few weeks ago. it's always the freaky muso bands who get their guitars ripped off.

ouch! i'm totally crushed, what a nightmare. i don't ever want to know what that feels like. i wouldn't know what to do if all of my gear was swiped.

better make a few calls to some friends in l.a. this gear is destined to end up in the second hand shops or on ebay.

why can't this happen to interpol or somebody who can afford it.

 Is this the real reason S3 etc list all the gear on the sleeves? For the perusal of the loss adjuster in the event of loss/damage?

BOBBY FROM THE WARLOCKS GEAR FOUND: THE COPS ARE ON IT!

they found one guitar which may lead to others (but haven't got it yet) they may or may not have a suspect, unbelievable, they put the Vox grand prix on ebay and was found by the rampart division and the fans simultaneously earlier today. I'll make an announcement when I know more, they are dealing with it right now..lets not speculate until we know whats what!....don't not get involved please let the police handle it!

Top news!

Now all we need is for Nickelback to lose their shit, and the world will be a better place.

What's wrong with Interpol?! They're miles better than some of the bands recommended on this site, shite like the Dirtbombs.

Interpol have made 2 great albums and their gig at the Brixton Academy last year was one of the best I've ever seen.
Come on now people, come on and slide with me

For a start, that annoying voice he sings in. It sounds so forced.

style over substance.
