Fibbers Matinee

Post by Blindsummit »

Great, great gig. Watched from the third row, with Jason stood directly in front of me. Watching him that close was amazing, I could see his every move. The way he plays the guitar is something else, great to watch him twirl the pletrum around his fingers when he was singing and not playing. Excellent setlist and a sublime crowd who kept quiet throughout.

BTW the recording came out excellent. Once we have transferred it to Cd I will arange getting it out to you all asap [probably by the weekend].

blindsummit,

totally agree, i was at the front barrier to the left of the stage. sound was superb for a small pub venue. setlist was excellent and as you say, the crowd was quiet when it should be.

i would love a copy of your recording. i would trade you for the setlist that i got from the stage.

contact me on leonard.liggins@lycos.co.uk if you're interested.

gig gig gig

Post by anorthernsoul »

yes,
i'd kill whatever was put in front of me for a copy of the gig. so whether you'll take that as testament to how keen i am, or if you actually want things killed, please pm me. i'm also interested in the photos of everyone who was taking pictures from the front (especially the blonde girl who took a picture of jason's shoes), they looked top from the viewscreens.

give us a shout about the boot or the gig, i'd be really interested and might have something to copy or trade

Was the setlist for the 'evening' gig any different? Anyone know?

Excellent intimate gig, although too many new songs really.

If anyone could sort me out with a copy of this gig that would be really cool and I'm quite happy to pay any costs involved.

I got a phonecall at 3pm yesterday from barfly saying I was on a reserve list and I could have 2 tickets providing I could guarantee to turn up, unfortunatly being in London and having no notice meant I couldn't.. b*stards.

Totally awesome gig - the purest, most vibrant most perfect harmony meltdowns I've ever heard. Sonic trancendental bliss.

I'll do my best to get copies to as many people as possible. The way I'm planning on doing it is, you post me one blank cd-r and a stamped addressed padded envelope, I will then burn it for you and send it back. I'm not interested in trades, I'll do this purely to spread the music around. When I've got it transferred by my mate I'll post here how I will be getting in touch.

I'd be very interested in a copy if there's one going - though I'm unsure how to get a CD-r to you without your address! I got the phone call at 2pm offering me the tickets to the gig, got there and my name wasn't down! Had to get the manager from inside to help get the two of us in.

I got a similar phonecall at 12 on the day of the gig!! The extremely short notice (and the fact I had no photo ID at hand) meant I couldnt make it. Very frustrating. So how many people were there? Was it really small? What was the setlist like? (im guessing the same setlist jason has been trotting out the whole of the last tour)

I was at both gigs yesterday. Was in the same spot for both, by railing on Jason's side (black long-ish hair, white shirt and stripey trousers). I thought both gigs were amazing, but the second one blew my mind. Anyway, would love a CD of it!

6'7" of generosity by the sound of it. I'd love to get in on the act. I've got (ahem) this 7 cd's of rare (ahem, excuse me) spiritualized material to swap.

anyway, my email address: jafordham@hotmail.com

or do we just hold on for more news?

Cheers

Just hang fire and I will sort as many of you out as I can. I should get the ball rolling on this by monday. Essentially you will send me a couple of blanks with a SAE and I'll burn it and post it back to you. I'll PM my addy to those posting in this thread. I don't want trades and I don't want extra blanks, just put it down to Yorkshire generosity. If you don't get a PM from me, it is because I've had enough of burning the cd's. I will though do as many as I can. So there you go, if you want a copy post in this thread and don't PM me.

Many thanks in advance Blindsummit, I would love a copy. It will be nice to not hear people chattering away during the quieter parts like on the copy of the Liverpool 24/02 gig I got hold of recently.

Ok I now have the cd's in my possesion. It is over two discs, the last track on disc one finishes and goes into the next, then is faded out. Disc two starts fading in on the previous track on disc one, make sense? Basically you miss nothing. I'll start pm'ing people who have posted in this thread. Any additions to this thread will not get cd's.

Good luck with the DJ-ing Blindsummit! Since I'm in London it's not very likely I'd make it up there. What Spz tracks where you gonna play?

What equipment did you use to record it? I'd like to torrent it on SharingTheGroove and that info would be cool.....

cheers.

Blindsummit, if you're not yet sick to the back teeth of burning CDs, could you add me to your list?

(Was it you who was asking about the Flux gig in Edinburgh with the Steve Martland orchestra? I have a copy of that.)
