John Mcgeoch 1955-2004

Without doubt the most inventive guitarist of our generation and my favourite Banshee has passed away. He also did some fine things with Magazine, P.I.L and Visage.

I'm very sad.

Being a huge Magazine fan and believing John was the best guitarist that UK punk produced I feel rather moved. 'Second Hand Daylight' features some of the most advanced guitar playing that the punk era and Magazine were possibly the most original band to emerge from the whole movement.

I wish Magazine got more credit and respect, particularly McGeoch and Devoto.

By the way what on earth happened? He was pretty young...
