PLEASE READ THIS! Board maintenance imminent!

As you are all aware we've been struggling to get the message board both up-to-date and also to protect it from unwelcome parties who may simply post spam but are also capable of destroying the entire thing. It's been very time-consuming so far but we're at a stage where we can change everything for the better.

This means the board will soon be unaccessible as it will be shut down - temporarily I should assure you. Please bear with us. It will be better after this I'm sure. The idea is to close the entire forum for a few days. Keep checking - it'll return at some point.

Thanks to everyone for your patience... We'll be back.

This posting works two ways;

first it bumps the improtant info back to eye-level.

secondly and hopefully it will allow a needed break as there seems to be a trend that (some) posters are posting to neccessitate their own agenda; which has either nothing to do with the music or is covertly wrapped up in the music.

anyway good job runci and the rest of the mods.

i was kinda hoping for a message from ben or whomever, a reassuring message, concerning the new bloody album. hopefully the pause in the board doesn't affect any news that may be in the air. maybe we'll get an update on the main site. ahem.

All new users have to be approved manually at the moment. That's one of the reasons why this set up is so ridiculous and why we are creating a new forum. No one is being approved as a new member til this whole mess is cleared up - then the spam bots will be unable to get in and people like Bza and myself won't have to spend hours every week trawling through 500 applications with user names like 'freehotsexchicks' or 'cheapcarfinance'. Total fucking pain in the proverbial. Not for much longer. It's a work in progress and when the time comes you'll soon see a difference. If we left it how it was a year ago the forum would be at least 90% spam by now.

Not necessarily. Might be seamless. But then again it might not. We're fucking with a server we can't see. I just warned everyone in case there was a blackout.

Ok, we are making progress

Sadly we had to get rid of the search index so search wont work in the next days. But now the data is saved and i will begin to upgrade the forum.
This site will be shut down soon.

MODLAB was able to organize a new site for us

Keep an eye on this topic, i hope were running the new site next weekend already.

Ok, looks like we will make the switch tonight already. We will announce the site when its up and running. All boards here will be locked then and you can use the new board...be prepared for some new look and feel.
And be happy that there wont be much spam anymore
