SIAN ALICE GROUP 59.59
... is released monday the 22nd april in the UK and europe. The album is already available in the US. It's released on Brooklyn's finest imprint The Social Registry and distributed by Secretly Canadian (US) and Cargo (UK).
Available on gatefold double 180g vinyl, CD and download. I'd get the vinyl personally.
We're supporting Spiritualized on the upcoming UK, and supporting the Black Angels just before that. The album, forthcoming EP, previous single and other stuff will available at these shows.
Apologies for the plug... hopefully see you during the forthcoming shows. Let me know what you think of the record.

What songs are on it? Similar to your live set?

Looking good!
I've heard the MySpazz stuff, and I'm wondering how representative that is of the rest of the LP. Way Down To Heaven (somebody's been listening to Happy Nightmare Baby, and I approve) is a stonking instant classic in my world, but the more Slowdive-ey numbers seem to drag a bit (for me, anyway).

The US vinyl version is indeed a lovely thing...
Rather like I did with the Yoko/Jason 12" I naturally stuck it on at 33rpm and thought the opening track was a Low-like masterpiece of restrained beauty....then realised when the second track started that I'd put it on at the wrong speed!
Still like the tunes, though.

i did that as well. i listened to the entire first track before i realised what i'd done...
Re: SIAN ALICE GROUP 59.59
i'm very happy to hear it sounds good at both 45 and 33. that was of course intentional.

You should try it Ben - it'll give you a whole new perspective on the song....ben crook wrote:i'm very happy to hear it sounds good at both 45 and 33. that was of course intentional.

Re: SIAN ALICE GROUP 59.59
Having listened to the tracks on MySpace, I had to order the album. It sounds beautiful. It'll maybe stop me playing 'Third' for a while.
I got it here for only £6.99 and free delivery:

Ben, looking forward to seeing your band in Belfast at the end of the month.

This should be in Gig's section maybe... but if any Londoners were interested in the ICA gig tonight, it seems like ICA's website does have some tickets after all (it was showing as SOLD OUT for a while).
The headline, Black Angels are worth catching too...

Hi Ben,
Really enjoying the Sian Alice Group album - finally picked it up earlier today and am on my first listen. Some of it is familiar from myspace, but the rest also sounds really great!
Any chance you'll be coming to N.A. anytime soon - Montreal in particular? Are you guys coming over with Spiritualized by chance?
Regards,
warmgun.
