Post by shrano »

I'm told by a friend that attended the acoustic recording session at KCRW while Spiritualized were in SoCal will be airing on KCRWs Morning Becomes Eclectic on Tues 27 May.

Ro, is the radio show broadcast from Southern Cal or elsewhere? Just so I can work out the time here in London.

glad you mentioned it cause up till this moment I was thinking I'd tune in in 15 minutes... but I'm not in California and actually it's 3 hrs from now.

I know it sounds daft, but time difference is something that I'll never quite get used to. I work in Glasgow and have to deal with New York over the phone quite a bit, and it never ceases to impress me that when I start work it's only 4 in the morning (I think) over there.

Thanks!!!

Ha- I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets confused. I was sure I was being a total idiot. I need one of those watches that tells you the time in different cities.

I am kicking myself that I missed this this morning. Did anyone catch it?

I hope they will have a podcast for it or at least put it up on their site.

I listened.
Same old acoustic mainlines. Sounded good. Did you hear that Jason found an old Gibson guitar that helped him write all his songs? Oh and he had double pneumonia. Oh and the Harmony Korine movie got him back into the studio again. Yawn. Lots of new information.

Was it Nic Harcourt? He is usually good, but there is another guy who is just ridiculous. I remember hearing an interview with him and Sigur Ros that just fell apart.

I'm surprised how great this sounds for a FM source. Thanks for recording and sharing. I set my computer up to record the whole thing, but I lost the stream during Soul on Fire.

I would have played it at work, but everyone I work with has horrible taste in music and would have been overwhelmed with SPZ.

For any non-dimers out there I've uploaded the FLAC files to Sendshack for some people over at last.fm.

well, it's Coxon who found, lets pay the credits. i have in front of me MOJO, february 2007. could be that this was one of the very first articles about Jase after he "returned". article goes like this:
"The last time we toured in America, John Coxon found a tiny black Gibson in a second-hand shop in Cincinnati. It was beautiful and i found myself writing tons of songs on it. I call the guitar "The Devil" because it's like it's playing the songs for me".

anyone remember Ben Crook telling here about the recording of the new album and then Jase was calling it the works of the devil or something like that?

anyway, lazy journalism as Jase has stated many times before. Jase can be called lazy himself, cuz his not willing to correct the journalist or maybe not even himself, that Coxon found the Gibson. anyway, lets not split the atom here.

to the point - this Morning Becomes Eclectic session 2008 is defo essential! grab it and you will enjoy it. good balanced sound, nice and clear, good vibes, very recommended!
