Turns out it started 3am, but it's re-run again today at an earlier hour (check website). So it's a 5 hour difference.

I enjoyed it and now I wish I'd written down the titles. A lot of it was familiar, but I was sleepy towards the end I woke up on the floor in front of my speakers this morning, so I must have nodded off. Did anyone tape this?
:D

 My neck is intact... the floor seems to suit me, it has become quite a frequent scenario. Perhaps it's due to ending a long relationship (15 years) a while back- I don't have to get to bed. I can do whatever I feel like. I even tried the stairs once (not so comfortable).

Glad to hear youre not suffering! Its a fine skill sleeping in unusual places. I can sleep anywhere, toilets, trains, standing up. I am mocked on regular occasions for it.

I really hope someone taped it! due to my complete lack of technical knowhow Ive only just got the web radio page working on my computer. Its really good quality too!

I'm not as lucky as you. I can't sleep anywhere, but floors are good.

It's on again 7pm (UK)... but I can't record it either unfortunately.

Speaking about all this sleep brings up a question that I have. If any of you can send me a bottle of Ambien that would be great. I'll stay up and record whatever u want.

Did J speak between tracks, a la Dylans Theme Time, or was it just a bunch of songs he chose?

Also-

Sigur Ros- Gobbledigook

J likes Sigur Ros? Im kinda glad but surprised. Or is that song just on the stations normal playlist at the mo...

Yeah, I too was a little surprised by some of the songs as I don't normally envision Jason listening to much current stuff, let alone more mainstream fare like D.C.F.C., Mates Of State, Sigur Ros, Beck, etc.

Could it be that the station threw in some current playlist stuff to appease less adventurous listeners?

Speaking of Beck, his new album is a nice return to form after the last couple, which I felt we kind of disappointing... I much prefer him when he's doing his spacey-folkie stuff a la Sea Change and Mutations.

I doubt Spaceman was even there. I'm a big doubter after this, "we're pressing more copies of the limited 500 copy thing."

If Spaceman were there, why wouldn't he talk?

totally! do you want to introduce the band? no. thats not his style. he likes to just get in there, get the business done and get out. I would have thought it was something set up when he was over for Coachella? even if he wasnt there, Its still his musical choices (barring a few exceptions). think of the Breezeblock sessions. now we've got another 3 weeks of 2 hour slots! brilliant

king Khan and the shrines is pure genius. check em out on myspace. VERY Dirtbombs, but with added James Brown-ness

Jason supplied the station with either a complete 2 hour programme or a playlist. It was all compiled in London but was very time consuming. After the station threw in a few commercial curve balls it was decided not to complete the month so I believe they are re-running the first couple of shows. Hopefully they will resist the urge to 'spice' it up with Coldplay, Snow Patrol or the Kaiser Chiefs, for instance, but not limited to such luminaries....

Thats a real shame. The station must be kicking themselves. Totally justified move form Jason. You dont invite someone to DJ then add stuff in off your own back just so it fits in with the stations normal playlist! Especially when your trying to palm it off as stuff he's chosen. What where they expecting?

Hello folks,
I had pretty much lost all interest in Spiritualized(complete sell out play list) and the fans that kept sticking up for him. I haven't logged into this board forever.

This was the right move by Spaceman. Something that always made him cool to me was that he turned me onto obscure psychedelic music, even punk stuff like Suicide. I'd hate to think that someone would actually enjoy Death Cab for Cutie because Spaceman played it on the radio. Glad he made the right choice and chose integrity over money.

Have a nice one,

Dave

i could care less what Jason is listening to.
i was probably one of the first people on this
board to admit that i like Death Cab For Cutie.

but hey, im not some music purist or psychedelic
music snob.... though my record collection might
suggest otherwise.
