What would be your 6-track sampler CD?

Post by BVCP206 » Fri Aug 01, 2008 11:03 pm

Ok, what do you consider the best track from each studio album. My selection as follows -

LGM - Sway
Pure Phase - Medication
LAGWAFIS - LAGWAFIS
Let It Come Down - Won't Get To Heaven (The State I'm In)
Amazing Grace - Lord Let It Rain On Me
Songs In A & E - Borrowed Your Gun

Bonus Track RAH - Oh Happy Day (wouldn't put this on tracklisting then it would be a nice surprise :) )

Nothing too unpredicatble here just picked my fave songs.

No one ever says "Robert Mueller - that guy just shoots from the hip!"
No one ever says "Robert Mueller - what an erratic fellow!"
That is a contained man! He's the human equivalent of those Japanese watermelons.

Well it's funny you guys should bring this up.
As a matter of fact, I'm trying to get my girlfriend into Spiritualized.
I made such a six song sampler (like half the usual dosage) and here's what i came up with:

You Lie You Cheat
Shine A Light
Walking With Jesus
Come Together
I Think I'm In Love
Lord Can You Hear Me (Playing With Fire Version)

that went over well and I made her a second one

Soul On Fire
LAGWAFIS (original mix)
Oh Baby
Electric Mainline (live)
Electricity (live)
Oh Happy Day (live)

*- all live tracks were from the magnificently brilliant Glastonbury 98 bootleg.

How'd I do?

Totally depends on who it's for and whether or not they ingest opiates. But assuming just a regular person who like decent music:

LGM - Angel Sigh/Sway/200 Bars
Pure Phase - Let It Flow
LAGWFIS - I Think I'm in Love
LICD - Lord Can You Hear Me
AG - Lord, Let It Rain on Me (love the resonance of that D chord...I know, I'm a sucker)
A + E - Soul on Fire

RAH - Take Your Time

If they're into opiates, just lock them in a room with Pure Phase on repeat.

well it depends on what you want it for. if it's an over all of what they can do

cop shoot cop
think i'm in love
won't get to heaven (the state i'm in)
lord let it rain on me
all my tears
you lie you cheat

should cover all areas
'raging and weeping are left on the early road
now each in his holy hill
the glittering and hurting days are alomst done
then let us compare mythologies
i have learned my elaborate lie
of soaring crosses and poisened thorns'

If it comes to live tracks then I would alternate between magasinet and roskilde 93 since I was there.. lagwafis tours were great and others too but i believe it´s more than nostalgia that makes appledelphy/scratch enjoy 93 shows the most.

Aye! Didn't see that.

Replace "Walking With Jesus" with "If I Were With Her Now".

I can't believe you were at those shows. They might just be the best two bootlegs I've heard...
