Black Nite Crash - Ride 8)

No "Leave Them All Behind", but their better stuff of their later period.

M: Eat it.
W: Eat it? Fucker’s alive.

This song is badass! Most of Tarantula isn't worth bothering with, but B.N.C. always knocks my socks off.

Any Colour You Like is a stone-cold classic in my opinion. Some of my favorite textures ever.

Right now, Willie Hutch - The Way We Were. Blows away the original!

Easter Everywhere - Mono remaster from last year. Great stuff! Sounds pretty good considering it was mastered from the original vinyl. Going to go straight into the 2nd disc (the stereo remaster from the original 2-track tapes) after this.

What a spectacular album.

"The American Metaphysical Circus"....great album and excellent choice. You have inspired me to put it on again.

I'm sure you have, but if not, check out Byrd's earlier band: The United States of America. Incredible album.

Eat Lights Become Lights - Autopia.

Pre-release of the debut album from an old forumite and it sounds fucking brilliant. Think the actual release date is the end of Feb. Lovely green vinyl. Theres an official album launch gig on Sat 26th Feb in London. I'm sure you can find out more on their MySpace page.

No, it is named after Peter Holmstrom (Dandies guitarist). It is also the name of his Portland based, side project experimental drone band (with members from Spindrift, BJM and the Upsidedown). They have a s/t album that was released late last year.

has it leaked?

I listened to the one new song they gave as a preview a while back and I hated it.. sounded far too emo alt.rockish..
still debating whether to go and see them when they tour the UK in Apr too.. never seen them but I'm a big fan (Madonna and Source Tags & Codes are classics)

yes it's leaked. what track have you heard? for me its a return to form(ish)....reminds of the who in rock opera mode (that'll probably put you off!) i like it, alot of energy and the last 16 minute track is a corker. theyre always better live anyways. seen them several times and they can put on a fantastically intense show, even the tracks from 'worlds apart' and 'so divided' were awesome when done live.

it was Summer Of Dead Souls.. I really didn't like it at all.
rock opera elements not a turn off for me actually.. they always did have a prog tinge to them with all those buildups and interludes.. just played with the intensity of a punk band!!

havent actually heard Worlds apart or so divided, they get a bad press but maybe I should give them a chance.
maybe i'll try and go see them live too!!

Oui Oui...Laetitia Stereolab - Need To Be. I don't know what you're saying but it hits home! Sounds nice too!

Need To Be

C'est la tentation
D'Ítre toute absorbÈe
De n'avoir plus ‡ se soucier
du temps de notre vie
C'est la peur de vivre,
d'aller jusqu'au bout
Celle aussi d'aller ‡ la rencontre
de sa finitude
C'est la tentation
De nier le prÈsent
Parce que c'est justement lui
qui est insaisissable
Se voiler la face,
plutÙt que d'Ítre claire
Ne point vouloir embrasser son
Ètat de solitude

Mon arbre est tout fleuri
Pourtant il fait encore trËs
froid dehors

On en attend des fruits
Les nouriciers
Qui rendent beau et fort

Il est comme ma vie
Des fois morose
D'autres fois haut en couleurs

Assise sous l'arbre en fleur
Au creux de l'ombre
De la lumiËre, du bonheur
