I picked it up last night at their gig which was fucking incredible. Don't think its out till next week officially. Was going to buy they vinyl but it didn't have any download codes with it so picked it up on CD. Got that and a t-shirt for £15 which I thought was a bargain. Sure I read somewhere that they had a limited edition vinyl release of the new album for Record Store Day?

some pop band from manchester doing a george martin cover..

I´m starting to think the wave of mancs from the late 80:s stole their style from Guy Evans (on drums)

Michael Jackson - (I Like) The Way That You Love Me

Easily the best song on the posthumous album, a souped up version of a demo previously released only on a pricey box set. It's blissed out and sweet, and a prime addition to the catalog.

A 2 disc Neil Young compilation I made for my best mate (he's now my new flat mate as well.... still waiting to see if this is a pending disaster or a genius idea but, on the plus side he has set up his record player in the front room so thats cool :) ) some time ago. The opening salvo on disc 2 is currently blaring out, setting up the day nicely thank you very much:-

Country Home (Ragged Glory)
Big Time (Broken Arrow)
Barstool Blues (Zuma)
Cinnamon Girl (Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere)
Pochahontas (Rust Never Sleeps)

How this went unreleased is mystifying! This and Rocket Shaped Song are some of my favorites from those sessions.

The Boo Radley's "Everythings Alright Forever"

One of my all-time favs and one that would quite probably make my top 5 albums of all time... and absolute classic in my opinion and hugely underrated... instantly takes me back to my early 20s, LSD and summer sunshine!

Green Pajamas-Three White Stones

I fucking love this band! Every single album of theirs resonates strong emotions and totally connects with me. But, it seems that no matter how many GP albums I own there seems to be many that I don't. Incredible studio output for a band who so rarely play live.

Yeah, It's been a while. A favourite of my dad's. Tonight I'm loving the eerie acoustic segments in between all-time-high,super-heavy, detuned sludge-rock!

And you can't fuck with 'Sweet Leaf''. :D

I'm going to transfer my freshly acquired mono Parlophone pressing of Sgt. Pepper from vinyl to cd & mp3 tonight after the ol' lady goes to sleep. Headphones, a good beer, Sgt. Pepper and probably some internet. Sounds good to me.

This album is really great. Highly recommend. Sounds like Swans and VU had a child and they let it play with a reverb pedal.

Bowery Electric: Vertigo.

So as nothing in particular is ruining our lives at the moment, we have started thinking of moving house as a method of generating the angst and stress that we are used to. I go to clear out all the shite in the attic and find a box of tapes and CDs. There were two Bowery electric albums, Vertigo and Beat, along with a load of Wedding Present, House of Love, Smiths and Cocteau Twins Cds, to name but a few. I figure the box hasn't been opened since 1998, so it is a bit like Christmas today. There were also about 150 bootleg tapes in there also - hopefully they'll play, although many are by bands I don't listen to much any more: Sisters of Mercy, Sugarcubes, Pixies, etc. Next job is to find my cassette deck, which is also "stored carefully". I've got no idea how the box got into the attic because it weighs about 100 tons, still if I take my time unpacking it I won't have time to move house......

I'd love to hear the whole gig too. I have just these songs from it: 48 mins 06 secs
Cop Shoot Cop>Let It Flow>Out Of Sight>No God Only Religion>Take Me To The Other Side>Come Together
I'm hoping there are a few more songs out there. The whole show wasn't just 48 minutes long was it?

Can't remember where I downloaded it from, but if you can't find it anywhere I'd be happy to up it sometime for you. It's all as one track in mp3 format.

Parson Sound - "India (Slight Return)"

Top quality '66-'67 early drone/psych/free jazz shit from Sweden. Highly recommended stuff from those that went on to form International Harvester and Trad, Gras Och Stenar. Never recorded an album at the time, but played at an Andy Warhol installation in Sewden, and the Velvets links are definitely there. But much heavier, and far more psychedelic.

http://www.mediafire.com/?km0yznmgfzn (Dunno how to hyperlink - sorry, bit mashed !) to join in the freakout.

Dick Dale and the Deltones - The Victor

Top shelf surf rock! The indelible early 60s spy movie sound at its wacked-out zenith -- amazing stuff. I can hear a lot of Let It Come Down in these tracks.

Whole pile of new things to listen to...

White Fence - s/t
The Paperhead - s/t
Carlton Melton - Country Ways
Deep Magic - Lucid Thought
White Noise Sound - s/t
The Hills - Master Sleeps
The Hills - s/t

I have been desperate to get my hands on the new Carlton Melton album and The Paperhead album, but not known where to get them from. Impatience got the better of me and i found eMusic were offering £10.50 free credit if you signed up for a trial... signed up and selected the basic package... downloaded new Carlton Melton album, The Paperhead album and most of the White Noise Sound album all for exactly my £10.50 free credit... and promptly cancelled my subscription... 3 albums for nothing and i can listen to them right away... and i can pick up the CDs at my leisure...

I thought most of their tunes were "extremely poignant" interspersed with the odd downright sad number :)

Did you get it at the gigs last week? No sign of my copy still....(sigh)
