Moon Duo- Horror Tour EP
A ton of 7"s since I had to switch the belt to 45 rpm to play the above ep
Dukes Of Stratosphere- Psonic Psunspot
UB40- Signing Off & Present Arms. These sound amazing. I bought these when in the UK in July and have just got around to playing them. The pressings are amazing.

Love it! I've been listening to it non stop since I got it on Friday. It's definitely not like Ingnodwetrust, I guess you could say it's a return to form (used loosely). Tron is fucking great, an in your face rocker which needs to be listened to at maximum volume. I think you're going to like this.

Re the Syd Pink Floyd show. It is excellent. Syds playing is so ahead of its time (and not just off its time). Shame is this is just a recording someone made of the playback show and not directly from the reels. Shame Syds vocals are so low BUT man his gee-tar playing... Also misses the opening intrumental song that is supposed to be 7 mins long and unheard in any form. Was left off at the behest of EMI who were in talks about releasing it (Do not know if that is still the case) Shame - would be great to have the full recording from the reels but for now - this will more than suffice.

Also for those lucky enough to get The Heads - Vertigo Swill cd what a brain crushing release that is some really heavy Jams. Seems like there maybe a vinyl release of this...
Also The Cult Of Dom Keller - EP3 is some seriously dark psych of the highest order
The Great Society Mind Destroyers tape has also finally been released on vinyl. Is a total psych/fuzz drenched wah assault.

yeah i think this was leaked because there was rumors that it wont be officially released, shame cos we could do with a first gen copy from the masters. also not really bothered about the vocals ...live they were always about the pounding proto industrial psych jamzzz. it is fantastic to hear it....now just need someone to 'discover' a set from the UFO pre 'Emily'...

Never heard of any of these - to be honest I always assumed there was only an abundance of post-Barrett Pink Floyd bootlegs. Which I'm not that bothered about to be honest.
Still hoping for a sanctioned release of 'Vegetable Man'/'Scream Thy Last Scream...' The last cash-cow pre-xmas re-release frenzy would have been a good time as any.

What do they have to lose?

The last couple of days have been fuelled by

Primal Scream and MC5 - "Black To Comm"
Spring Heel Jack - Live

Interestingly both feature J Spaceman where it matters...

the previous 2 shows are quite listenable through headphones and they do alot of jamming and you get some unreleased toons - 2 versions of 'reaction in g' and one called 'one in a million' ...but this new boot has alot more clarity and is of much higher quality.

Wow! a lot more listenable than the other pf with syd boots.. I only get frustrated listening to them.. this is the first one that I truly can enjoy.
I really like set the controls - great to hear syd´s guitar on that one
pow r toc h is also great - very bluesy long and interesting version

New lp by The Mighty Fall.

Not great in my view. At all.
Taking Off and Monocard apart, Happi Song ok, the rest Fall by numbers, or frankly close to unlistenable.

Great shame, but down there with Levitate, Reformation Post TLC and Middle Class Revolt.

Who knows, may come to like it.

I used to be a fan/sometimes still listen to the PG´s fleetwood mac..
I don´t think I´ve ever heard a record after 1970 though..

I heard something horrible in the eighties featuring that wonam with a man´s name.. but pretty much everyone were horrible then so I shouldn´t judge from that..

Are there any good records from the seventies?

it's like another band after the 60s. there's some crap and some good stuff, though it's all horribly overproduced (to me) and as far as i can tell it gets worse with time, so maybe best to stick with the 70s stuff to avoid disappointment.
hmmm, that seems to directly contradict what i wrote before. oh well

Er... yeah, I think so. Was he in Soundgarden? I have it because of the John McBain (ex-Monster Magnet) link.

Yeah Matt Cameron was the Soundgarden drummer during their halcyon years and switched to Pearl Jam in the late 90s after Jack Irons left.

I used to be a big Pearl Jam fan but lost much of my interest over the years, though I still enjoy their stuff from time to time. I like Matt Cameron's stuff with Soundgarden but never thought he really fit the Pearl Jam sound very well. He's a basher, which is fine, but Pearl Jam always had a bit of a cosmic surfing vibe that he could never really capture, I don't think.

I don't think Wellwater sounds anything whatsoever like Soundgarden! 60s psych and 60s guitar pop with a slightly tripped out edge at times.

Been going through quite a bit of a vinyl listening today, a nice chilled out Saturday with a real fire going on in the background (God, am I getting old or what?!). So far we've had:-

The Verve's A Northern Soul & She's A Superstar (obviously inspired by "that" thread!)
Moon Duo's Horror Tour EP
Neil Young's Harvest & Zuma
White Denim's D
The Hookworm's EP
Ian Brown's Golden Gaze
Happy Monday's Squirrel & G Man

Now to settle down in front of some more of the West Wing Box Set (who needs to go clubbing these days?! )
