Hmmm...3 references to Indian Giver in a row!

How come this rather remarkable combination of new & reinvented Spectrum tracks, plus the cool catwhiskered Southern growls' which beautifully combine to make a dervishly-whirled mysterious mixture of music, have not got much by way of publicity or recognition :?:

Runcible, which Grails album did you buy? Has anyone else heard the new Mogwai ~ Batcat EP? Badass. The last track features Roky Erikson on vocals.

Yeah, tis good alright. Not too keen on the drum sound though, can't explain why either! I think Roky sounds like Michael Stipe on this one. Oh, and track 2 has a fantastic title: "Stupid prick gets chased by the police and loses his slut girlfriend." 8)

Nope, your not wrong. That song is amazing and I've had many hours of pleasure with it over the years. That whole album used to soundtrack my solo rides into the night in my Mini, parking up, sparking up, and listening to that on a portable stereo on the back seat. The days before cars with cd players....and tape players as well. That song inparticular is a stand out. Carry on your obsession, because it's worth it.

Re: Spirit Of Eden. I've never ever heard that one. My only experience of Talk Talk is that Lifes What You Make It track. Always seen SOE namechecked as being great but never got round to buying it.

My current listening pleasure is the Wooden Shjips Record Store cd which came with the initial quantities of Dos. Superb mix.

Fucking weird...same here!

Been on a real Led Zep kick last few days and the daily trudge has been much brightened by 'Led Zeppelin III', 'Physical Graffiti' and the amazing 'Presence'.

Possibly worthy of a thread (or revival of one) if I have the time...but so many amazing - and maybe - lesser known tunes on these...couple off the top of my head include 'Gallow's Pole' and 'Down by the Seaside'. Something about these, having not heard them for a while, make them sound like THE GREATEST SONGS EVER!!! :D

Madlib' Beat Kondukta series Vol 1 - 6.

Short, sharp hip-hop instrumentals with vox samples...for those fond of Flying Lotus...

More what I was looking for than the Sujinho (Jackson Conti) I picked up a while back.

I couldn't agree more but then I think Zeppelin are probably the greatest band ever. 'Down by the Seaside' is probably the most off-to-one-side track they ever did - the nod to Neil Young is unmistakable - and it took me longer to understand it. I find it astonishing that they filled Physical Graffiti with left over songs from previous albums yet it remains (as Multi pointed out) a candidate for the best ever double album as every track is strong. Another curious track from PG is Boogie With Stu - not many people could get away with including the most broken down/out of tune piano ever heard, but it somehow sounds fantastic.

Ha..indeed it's pretty mong-blowing...

There's some pretty sweet overlaying going on
and Retro/Grade "Zoid" being there makes me happy: early.
and then Xaviera Gold' vocals on the '94 HIT from the Ralphi (Mr. House Music) Rosario
>>>they don't half milk Weatheral remix: it's used as a canvas for ages>>>
and then the two levon vincent trax are beltin' grippers into the Hardy/Stingly explosion of Love.

Wettin' my kecks

Best,
