If.....

Post by estee »

.......Spiritualized were to ever perform an entire album live which one would you want performing ?

At the moment it would have to be either Pure Phase or Ladies and Gentlemen....

But if I won the lottery I would gladly pay for every album to be played chronologically on consecutive nights with a full on orchestra and gospel backing singers.

Yep, definetly A&E, and really just for that song...I think they would do it amazingly well on current form. :D

Albert Hall  (sorry, I'll get my coat)

I agree with the comments about Baby I'm Just A Fool. It's the best song on the album by miles and doesn't get a look in. Shame. I really wanted it to be the next single rather than Sweet Talk / You Lie You Cheat which were played to death when the last single came out.
It's nice to be liked,
But it's better by far to get paid.

Couldn't agree more. Oh, and following Laz's suggestion, original line up only.

The Melkweg in Amsterdam - best sound ever, no queues for the bar, great city, nice people at the venue. Basically it's the best venue I've ever been to (followed by the 013 in Tilburg)
MODLAB wrote: which cocktail?
At a gig it'd be beer. In Amsterdam Heineken on tap.

The mood I'm normally in in Amsterdam, which is very good.

Right now I want to hear everything live. How about a one week residency playing a different studio album over the first six nights and on the seventh night "Spiritualized Play Spacemen 3". That way we don't miss out on Take Me To The Other Side. The venue : What about a spacestation?

I thought I was being greedy wanting all albums played :D
But yep a Spacemen3 night would round the week off perfectly, if only.....

Let It Come Down with full on band set up just like the first part of the tour would be fantastic too.

Surprised that Gotta Fire hasn't been played on the current tour. Would love it if they did Don't hold me close live with Rachel Korine too

Ah Runcible! Now you've got me in fantasy land. If this ever happens (and Jason P, if you're reading this - my vote is for Ladies & Gents unless you can arrange a 4 night residence with LGM, Pure Phase, Ladies & Gents and then A&E!) I'll be there. Now, are we going to rent a houseboat for the trip? And which coffeeshop will we be meeting the band in - Dampkring?

It was played at the Rough Trade show. Is that the one you're referring to?

I hear runcible's comments regarding Melkweg and previous comments regarding sound quality there

I was fortunate enough to get to see a Jazz performance at Bimhuis and it was the best sound i think i have ever heard in my life.

I would want Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space. Probably at Nottingham Rescue Rooms, I love that venue ever since seeing Low there. Roundhouse is good too. ABC glasgow. Loads of good venues. Cafe De La Danse in Paris. Final answer.

Why not do 3 albums in one night like the Cure did in Berlin with Pornography/Disintegration/Bloodflowers?!

Mine would be LGM/Ladies & Gents/Songs in A & E.

Would you leave in Harmony 1-6?!
Come on now people, come on and slide with me

I'd plump for 'Ladies & gentlemen...' It's the album that got me into Spz. However it would definitely be great to hear LGM too. And A&E and Amazing... Oh, there all good!
