Tones for Djs

Post by penyrolewen »

Hi all,

I have a vinyl copy of 'Tones', but no turntable.... (I know, saddo....).
Anyway, does anyone know if/where I can download it? I'll buy it again if I have to, even a CD would be ok,
but I would love to hear it again. I have looked through these forums and there is a link to a massive download, but it's not active any more. Any advice most welcome!

thanks,

J

Simonkeeping,

thanks so much, but DOH! I've been away and the number of downloads allowed has been reached! Please don't worry, though, it was really kind of you to do it at all. I am away again now, but will post here when I return just in case anyone feels like repeating Simonkeeping's kindness!

Happy new year to you all,

Jon

Sorry about this people, but can someone share this again. I've had to reformat my iPod and I've lost my copy of the mp3s. :(

Thanks in advance.

"Unfortunately, there have been too many requests for the file Pure Phase Tones For DJ_s.zip and therefore it has been removed."

I'm going to have to dig out my copy on the weekend and "rip" it to mp3... Why, I don't know - but hey, could be good to go to sleep to...

Re: Ringtones for Djs

Post by ash »

I've tried both of them a few times, and nope... still nothing. I've been hunting around for it on soulseek, and found a few people sharing it, however they seem to disappear offline before I can grab more than half a track. Might have to plug the USB cable into the turntable after all...

And on a slightly related note, am I the only person in the whole world insane enough to think that the tones would make a great mobile phone ringtone...? Tried it with Pure Phase (album track) on the weekend, and have already freaked out a couple of co-workers...

Often thought about that with Electric Mainline but figured i'd run the risk of getting pissed off with the tune.

Here you go. I don't know why those who are on here regularly don't share so freely. I can understand it with stuff that's commercially available, but this ain't taking money out of J Spaceman's pocket.

it was shared twice in this thread and now three times thanks to you. if you look through the board archives, you'll see that regulars share quite freely and regularly with regulars and irregulars and irregulars with irregulars as well as regulars. thanks for sharing.

I have this on my work computer, but cannot figure out yousendit or megaupload. When it asks me to browse for the file, all of the songs are separate files even though they are in one folder. How do I upload as a single file? I am dumb.

Does anyone have those in better quality?

The two last ones and those i can find on soulseek have been 256 kps with corrupt file headers (adobe ps3 pics and crap imbedded).. I have tried to edit in notepad but it´s very hard to know what to remove..
maybe someone know of a program that can restore/remove the non-audio crap?
I just want to have a clean mp3 or another format that can be blown up to wav so it will be usable in all audio progs/synths/samplers... wanna have some fun with it..

edit: never mind... I´m stupid... sound forge converts it without problems.

I know this thread has been dead awhile, but was hoping somewhat might be able to upload the "Pure Phase Tones" again. I remember when this came out, I always wanted to hear it and am still kicking myself for passing it up in the record store when I was 17. An upload would be much appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

Scratch,

Thanks for that - they're downloading now.....

Might try working with them this afternoon.... Wasn't it Lamont Young or someone who had a drone piped 'round his house nonstop?
