This is sad. Stooges looked on great form at Glasto last year. My pal Ronnie was up on the stage with them.

I will be putting on some stooges when I get home.
Get fuzzed out.

I had to go to a birthday party for someone I didn't know very well on the night they played round the corner at an open air thing a couple of years ago. That was the closest I got to seeing them live. Boo hoo!

Thanks for the riffs Ron - Loose is possibly the best ever, and the chainsaw guitar at the end of TV Eye still sends shivers down my spine.

Not the best way to start my day.
Having spent many hours listening to these songs...
This news is complete shit.
I only hope the cunts who stole THE STOOGES equipment this summer
will decide to cash in
so i can fly there and unleash a flurry of pummeling fist shots.
RIP Asheton.
music is less good without you.
Lucky enough to see Coachella
Brilliant.

An amazing clip from a recent ('04?) performance:

God, I love this song. Fun House is one of my all-time favorite records.

Sad news for music fans, family and friends... I hope his loved once are at peace. Personally, I believe in some sort of after life for our 'spirit' or 'essence'- so, symbolically speaking, may his spirit soar!

Definetely RIP Ron. You can tell that there's so much of his influence on J's style.

Gutted. RIP Ron.

Anyone else wonder if it was the sight of Iggy hawking car insurance on TV that killed him? That's a whole other tragedy!

I was over in Australia when I read this. The press over there is pretty much all about sport and the Israel situation so totally missed this when it happened. Fucking gutted to hear it. He really was a genius. His playing on all The Stooges albums still blows me away everytime I hear them. Im glad he had the opportunity to play with the band he loved so much again before he passed away.
