I Am What I Am/Rocket USA

I was listening to these a few moments ago and I just realized they are probably the most interesting SPZ audio rarities (although I remember someone explicitly snubbing Rocket USA).

Just to bring discussion of these tracks back to life,

a) Is there a better version of "I Am What I Am" than what we have on the Real Complete Works? It's pretty loss-y, so it would be fantastic to hear a clearer version.

and

b) Was there any footage of this performance of "Rocket USA?" It was part of an NME awards performance (correct me if I'm wrong), so I would like to assume it was taped.

I just went back and listened to the Complete Works version and it is indeed very muddy.
There is a version on the BBC Sessions album - Letting it Flow which is absolutely crystal.

05. Take Good Care Of It (John Peel March 1993) 5:30
06. Stay With Me (John Peel March 1993) 4:44

Could somebody YSI that track? At the time, I think the muddy one was the best version available.

The BBC Session listed on that site is the early one. I've never head the Letting It Flow version.

An upload would be very, very appreciated. :D

I second that notion- i've only got a shitty quality version of I Am What I Am, i'd love to hear the rest of that session. Apparantly its a co-write with Dr John. Would anyone recommend his album around the same time which features Spz members?

I love both these rarities, I reckon they show how awesome that eras lineup was- they could turn their hand to anything. Do people really knock Rocket USA? its great.

I am inept on how to upload music.
If someone wants, I will send them a copy of the BBC disk.
I'll mail it out to the 1st person who is capable and leaves their email.
That way you don't have to flood me with PM's.
And a correction in the tracklisting : Take Good Care of It is actually Take Your Time.

Yeah I'd love a lossless copy of letting it flow. Someone once promised me copy of this and never came through.

Wow.
That was super easy.
The Come Together/Electric Mainline/I Am What I Am is one 13 minute track.
That's how it is on the BBC disk.
That's the only thing I uploaded.

Lemme know if this works.

Direct me on how to make a zip folder and I'll do the whole disk.

edit : I may have figured it out.

Here is the whole disk.
I uploaded it in FLAC format and it is in .rar
Lemme know if the upload works one way or the other.

oh man!!! i have a very poor copy of this on cassette. thanks so much. I am what I am was always one of my faves and now I have it in decent quality. On my old tape I was never able to hear the really cool guitar at about 12:13. I wonder if that's J playing?

It's a spiritualized song. It was written while they were recording for Dr John's Anutha Zone. As is my understanding
