Someone recently was looking for a copy of the Spz documentary if i recall correctly. Well i dugout a few DVDs i had lying about which has a whole load of music vids on them including this very documentary (as well as various other Spz/Sonic/Spacemen bits and pieces). I can make this available via Soulseek (its an AVI file) if anyone is interested. Loads of other videos uncovered too including a full Mogwai show and a raft of other titbits... had a trip down memory lane yesterday watching a few of them.

p.s. if i can get round to it, i was planning on ripping all the Spz live bootleg DVDs i have onto the PC for safe keeping as the DVDs invariably get scratched and fucked.

Hi Laz, a very kind offer, I'm sure lots would be interested in seeing the films. If there's lots of data my suggestion would be to use a USB stick to avoid lots of download issues. You can get 16gb ones for about Â£20. We could have a mail chain to send it round to those who are interested, and I'm sure honour would ensure the stick came back to you. - If not I'll return the cost of the stick to you myself!

Good point. Yeah, i'm aware that i could end up with some fustrated downloaders who are queued up waiting to access these...

For now i'll share out the smaller files, and when i get the shows ripped, we can find a suitable method of sharing all these amongst us all.

I've made a start on this and its going better than expected. Hope to have all the discs ripped by next week at the latest. HD it certainly isn't, but its video footage of Spiritualized nonetheless!

Just added the "A Spiritualized Odyssey" to this. Never seen this before, but looks interesting, as well as an XFM Brixton Academy show i found on disc.

Once i've done them all, i'll list them here and see if there are any others around i'm missing that others have and can contribute.

I had DVDs of the MTV 120mins show and the Electric Ballroom 2003 show, but the discs are fucked and unreadable. I know there is also a further Glasto show around too, but cannot find it for the life of me.

So, does anyone have any others that we can add to the list? Copies of the Electric Ballroom and 120mins shows would be good to add to this.

There is a video of Glastonbury 1992 - really shakey camera work but surprisingly good sound quality. The music is absolutely incredible.

I have MTV 120 Mins and Glasto 2004, but only as MP4 files. They're actually the ones that dselevan (where'd he go?) posted a couple of years ago.

I've just amended the list as the WTC & Glasto gig is actually Glasto 1992... Mark Refroy is playing with them as well as Johnny Mattock on drums and posibly Will on bass and Kate on keys and a small horn section... play most of LGM too.

If anyone can get these other shows (in any format) then we can work out how we share them out.

Other vids uncovered by Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Telescopes, My Bloody Valentine, Mary Chain, Yo La Tengo, The Stooges, Ravonettes, Dinosaur Jr/J Mascis and a shedload of Teenage Fanclub vids too... happy days!

very good. but can we change one thing and that change will be not small. thats about the list and making lists whatever kinds.
lets keep it date wise - i mean, if we have SPZ show from 1992 then thats where we start.
can we go with the list like this:
1992 - wtc
1992 - glasto
1998 - benicassim
1998 - route du rock
2002 - hultsfred
2004 - rfh

something like that. we all know the line-up has changed through the years. but the feeling is there, still, doesn't it all make alot more sense if we trace the show not by names but by dates?

I'll group all these together and see what size we're talking. I have a 12Gb memory stick that i could possibly fit them all on, but i used that regularly with work so not sure if its a viable option.

Clewsr, similar suggesation also been made by Olan. No probs with either of this. Think we really just need to get it started.

OK... can intersted people send PMs to sign up for this? We'll offer this up for what? 2 weeks? At the end we'll draw up a list of names and addresses and see if we can get a sequence drafted up. As soon as i get whatever media we're using, we'll get the ball rolling. Now, we're coming up to Xmas so it might be an idea to start this in the new year to avoid any postal delays.

Sound like a plan? Any objections M'Lud?

We are planning on getting a memory stick that we can fit all this on and then have it passed around so all those who want a copy can get their hands on it. We're working on this as i type...

If you wish to be part of the distribution, send on your address details and we'll gather all the data together and work out a plan. We'll closing date for taking part is Friday 11th December. That way, we can get things organised and get this started.

What do you reckon to that DVD? I bought it ages ago and only watched it once as it seemed more like a bootleg (bad sound/picture) than an official release.

I have MTV 120 Mins which also includes an interview with Jason (conducted by Miles Hunt of The Wonder Stuff, trivia buffs) and some videos, plus Glasto 2004. Both are MP4 and come to about 1.5 GB if you want them added to the stick.

i had Glasto 2004 somewhere... didn't have it to hand when i made the list but i knew i had it and i've just found it lying at the back of a cupboard, so i've added that to the list. I'll have to rip it to AVI, but i'll get that done this week.

hi there. i have Glasto 04 as well (it's in a file type ready for DVD burning) and would be more than happy to upload it somewhere if anyone has bandwidth that would accommodate the file size..i want to say its 1.5gb...just throwing that out there, the memory stick idea sounds wonderful. i suppose my newness around here would exclude me from participation?

OK, Clewsr has very kindly donated a USB stick to this project and sent it onto myself. Once received, i'll get it filled with the videos and then organise some sort of chain to get this passed around.

OK, updates:

1. Gassjack's Sydney show has been converted to AVI and added to the pile
2. USB drive purchased by Clewsr (BIG thanks!!) and now in my possession with all the files on it

Currently working thru the list of people who contacted me (approx 20) re: this and will get back with more updates shortly.

I have a program that can rip vids from youtube and the like. if anyone wants me to rip a vid or anything im down for doing that. (if this has already happened or been offered please excuse me....) however, the files come out as FLV's. im not sure if that's a problem or not.

is it too late to get on board for this video sharing ????
i dont really have much to share, but like i said i can dl whatever from youtube and add it if people want something....

USB drive is on its way around those who initially signed up, so i don't know how easy it would be to jump on board. Maybe if its still stateside, someone can let you know when they get it and send it on to you. If all else fails, its due to get back to the UK and to Clewsr in the end. Maybe we can arrange another world tour for it if there is enough interest.
