BXI Boris & Ian Astbury

Post by rameses »

To be honest it's a bit rubbish.

Which is a shame as I really like Boris and I had a soft spot for The Cult.

Boris seem to be too restrained and not in their doom/drone persona or going full pelt as on Smile . Astbury's vocals are pretty dismal too, but at least he's not trying to do his Jim Morrison impersonation.

The highlight of the four tracks is a cover of Rain (the Cult song) and Astbury's not even on it.
It's nice to be liked,
But it's better by far to get paid.

I read another bad review of this, so I guess I will be avoiding it and waiting for the next official Boris album.

Hmm...I think i may like his "Morrison" vocals...i'm thinking work with Unkle. He's got more navaho sound in him than Morrison.

I'll check this out as Boris are ok (at points) and Astbury is good. Thanks for the heads up and the warning!
