very nice!

I like the guy with the pink shirt who says the hipster kids are filling in the gaps. White people were there first, black people moved in when they left, and the hipster white kids moved in after the blacks left. I guess it's not gentrification if no one is living there!

I lived in the city proper for about a year. (If it counts for anything, I grew up in the suburbs right next to it!) I moved out because it pretty much sucked although, surprisingly enough, I was never a victim of crime. (I did find a dead body near my building though.) My best friend had his car stolen right out from in front of my building and moved away because he got tired of (among other things) "cleaning human shit from his building's front porch every day...

Detroit holds a special place in my mind.

Although I've never been it's all Robocop, monorails and techno. I will also never got too preserve my fantasy.

Just drove thru the heart of the city, sure its fucked up. So are some parts of most large cities.
