Raw Power Festival - July 10th - Lots of fuzz!!!

Post by TogetherWeCan »

Sorry I haven't been able to get news to you as early as I would have liked fellow fuzz heads, however here I am now.

Early Bird Tix have long since gone I'm afraid and there's only very very limited £12.50 tickets left!!! If you look at the facebook group below you'll see it's buldging and there's no way we can fit all those people in.

Baba Yaga’s Hut and Together We Can Walk On Water presents Raw Power...

A one-day micro festival bringing the best in proto-punk, synth metal, psychedelic freak beat, krautrock and shoegaze. Expect underground sounds in genres so now they ain’t even been named yet. We’ll be joined by DJs joining the dots from surf and drone to no wave and be-bop with plenty to see and do between bands. Guaranteed substance AND style all down the line.

Plus: all day BBQ, Kool-Aid cocktail bar, film screenings, acoustic sets, blues players, honky-tonk piano, live painting, games, zine and record stalls, vintage clothes and jewellery concessions… Enjoy a sing-along from Hukuna Matata to Lou Reed’s Perfect Day whilst you watch the smoke clouds from your shisha pipe drift away…

Sunday 10th July 2011 - 12PM-11PM

The line-up includes U.S. legends Trans Am who are flying over especially for the festival having sold out Corsica alone last time and a plethora of quality support, two of which - Bo Ningen and Part Chimp - have also previously sold out Corsica as the sole headliner. And anyone who came to our recent Koolaid Electric Company event knows they’re more than capable of pulling a crowd too… especially those who couldn’t get in!!!

…and what I hear you say, all for £10!!! the price of a regular gig ticket, that can’t be right!!! Well you’re right, it’s not right – but we’re doing it anyway. Early bird tickets on sale now for just £10!

One not to dither over - capacity is very limited for the line-up which is still being added too, and there will be a very nice suprise for all on the day too.

Less than 70 Advance Tickets left now folks and anyone who's been to the last two Together We Can shows knows I'm not joking. There’ll be a very limited number held back for the door if any at all.

Hey folks,

To stop those lucky enough to have tickets kicking yourselves when you turn up late and realise the biggest event of the day has already happened…. to stop the tears, the self harming, the ‘why didn't I come earlier’s and, frankly, so we can get a kick out of hearing about it all day we thought we’d give you a heads up that our very special guests on the day will be elusive legends Clinic.

Clinic’s outright refusal to follow tenets and trends of the music industry has been to their testament over the years. They've had the world at their feet… the adulation of the press and headline slots at venues such as the Astoria countered by their disgraceful and captivating Beatles-esque appearance on the David Letterman Show. Their refusal to follow the rules and do anything or play anywhere unless they really want to makes us love them even more. The band are a British triumph, borne out of several joyous rural events and circus happenings. Bring on the freakout!!!

As we have found out ourselves after a 10 year pursuit of Clinic, these are not easy guys to book. They pick their gigs extremely carefully and therefore we’re absolutely honoured that after years of tempting and persuasion they’ve decided to join us at Corsica Studios for one of the craziest events we’ve ever thrown.

Clinic will be on stage before 2pm so make sure you’re there much earlier so you have plenty of time to get into the venue as there’s likely to be a queue to get into the venue before they play.

The majority of the area we’re using is undercover (including an additional railway arch we’ve hired), so come rain or shine we’re going to have a good time!!! We’ve added a few extra outdoor bits but if the weather is miserable our outdoor areas can be largely covered and the sun will be shinning inside regardless!!! No wellies necessary!!!

Please note that you can not bring any food or liquids into the venue, however there will be all sorts going on inside including our Shisha café, market stalls, film screenings, games, BBQ, Colombian restaurant, film screenings, variety of bars and that’s not even mentioning the 3 stages of great music.

This event has sold out and there is still a high demand for tickets so we do have to be strict on re-admission. If you do need to leave the venue, for whatever reason, re-admission will be at the discretion of the door supervisors and will be strictly time limited!!!

To give you just a small taste of some of what’s to come please follow this link for Corsica Studios' weekly podcast which this week focuses on some of the amazing things we have going on at this weekends festival…

We genuinely can’t wait, see you all there bright-eyed and bushy tailed when doors open at 12pm . Trust us you don’t want to miss a thing and you certainly don’t want to be stuck outside in a queue when Clinic come on!
