We are two weeks out from these potentially glorious shows! If you weren't at the London shows, our meet-ups were a great success and everyone had a chance to meet each other and put faces to names. Wouldn't trade those experiences for anything! Now, let's do it again for these upcoming shows!

Anyone care to pick one for the Edinburgh gig?

Just taking a look around the area, there is a pub a few doors down form Queen's Hall called The 1/4 Gill. I say we meet there if no one else will pick a place.

From a Qype review from 21 March 2011...

Now known as "The Grapes" this pub should be avoided. The pub is known for violence, alcoholics, and an unsavoury clientèle. Opening at 6am this probably shouldn't be a surprise. With a group of "characters" smoking outside, there's a constant smell of stale cigarettes emanating from the pub, but also brawling in the street in otherwise a nice area of town. This place should be closed down, or hermetically sealed with the punters inside to protect the public.

Anyone with local knowledge care to refute this or suggests another option? From a quick google maps search the Alehouse or the Southern bar?

The Southern Bar is definitely the better bar in that area, just past the Queens Hall on the right. Another decent bar a little farther on the opposite corner of the next crossroads is The Reverie...definitely give the Grape a wide berth!

Going to be coming up for the RAH gig from Brighton after I finish work so prob won't be up there till quite late. I'm up for meeting for a pint or 2 at the venue if I miss the pre-gig meet up in the pub.

At the request of toomilk, the Edinburgh meeting place is now The Abbey as the other one isn't open. However, my guess is it will be later if there's a gig on at Queens Hall providing the pub hasn't actually closed down for good. So best to check in on both bars if you're heading there soon.

What time do people think they'll be living the pub for the Royal Albert Hall. Don't think my train gets into London Victoria till 7 so prob not going to be at the pub much before 7.30 earliest. I'll try the pub first but hopefully catch some of you at the venue if not.
