don't forget the book!

First, Mexican Summer will release a hardcover book, featuring art and writing from the label’s artists and collaborators, which will be designed by longtime label associate Dan Schechter. Mexican Summer: Five Years will be limited to 1,000 copies and will come with a 10-inch record featuring collaborations from Bay Of Pigs (Spiritualized, Soldiers of Fortune and Neil Hagerty), Jorge Elbrose (Jorge Elbrecht and Ariel Pink), Autre Ne Veut and Fennesz, Bobb Trimble and Quilt, and The Lonely Sailor and Renée Mendoza Haran.

...and the record.

huh?...so this is implying (or i'm reading in to it) that J. did succeed with working with Neil Haggerty? oh man please tell me this is true? Ro?

footnote: quick internet search shows that Soldiers of Fortune is another project that Kid Millions is involved with. It appears he and J. have really clicked and it seems the he is turning J. on to alot of new projects.

THIS IS SO EXCITING!

Wow, just wow!

Although only going on a tiny sample, can you imagine if the next album was all like that? Ultra-kraut-tastic rock 'n' roll with purple flashes. Here's hopin'.

(although I can't be the only person who was disappointed that 'Five Years' is not in fact another Bowie cover...)

Pushing through the market square
So many mothers sighing....

Will Saturday be the only show J. does on this mini jaunt?
Any chance of a "secret" show in Brooklyn on Friday?

The book/record thing is available now. It's rather expensive though.

What happened with the Bay of Pigs stuff? Is anything available to stream besides that YouTube clip? The whole thing managed to pass me by.
