This fest is usually a bit too metal for me. But it's looking pretty, pretty good this year.

Not just The Heads and Godspeed..

but also Earthless have been announced as artist in residence. they are playing 3 different sets. there's a San Diego takeover as well as a Japanese Psych day (Kikagaku Moyo etc).. with Damo Suzuki jamming with all the various bands!

anyone been to this? what's it like?

They definitely seem to have gone for a more psych feel this year.
There was a 2-3 year period where they went down that road but i thought they had reverted back to the more metal orientated stuff on a permanent basis. Obviously not.

still plenty of metal further down the bill

but yeah, looking pretty nice. I like the idea of bands jamming with each other so you see something unique.
