Are there more UK shows in the pipeline/yet to be confirmed, because I see a couple of blatant omissions on the schedule?

I really don't want to fork out cash on travel/board for an gig down in England if a Scottish gig is planned.

Do us a favour and please don't schedule Dublin for a Sunday or Monday as we're truly sick and tired over here of decent bands being put on the 2 worst nights of the week. :x

After a bit of a struggle I've just got a Sheff ticket too.

I couldn't order online due to some problem on their site so gave them a ring.

The phone number in Prescriptions for the Plug is wrong - it should be 0114 241 3040.

Hopefully the site problem will be sorted soon - there was some issue with the shipping method selection as they don't send tickets through the post, it's an email job.
It's nice to be liked,
But it's better by far to get paid.

Ah ha!

I think only one band will be worth seeing (a guess)

they will be headlining wont they, hey ho, this is my only sesnisble option so it looks like bristol it is!

Is this gonna be just after the albums out?

I think play said the 5th, but I am sure i saw the 19th on here ?

I think the dot to dot festival is similar to the Bristol Venn festival. Bands playing various venues around Bristol, you get a wrist band to gain entry to the venue.

hmm. This dot to dot thing might be worth it as its fairly cheap and it seems the band aren't doing that many dates. I might be swayed if anyone else of any note were playing :)

I'd have to agree here, £15 or thereabouts seems like a good deal if you got another half decent band playing. A similar set up in Ireland would cost at least 50 or 60 Euros i reckon, if you were lucky!

Bought my London ticket this morning and then literally a few minutes later I was sent tour details for work. So I'm supposed to be in Lima, Peru on May 16th...if more dates are added I'll end up missing the Spz gig! Argh, why does this always happen to me? :(
I mean, of course I'm over the moon happy about going to Peru, but why oh why did it need to clash?!
There are so many other months in a year... this is like some sort of permanent jinx.:x

got my belfast ticket, now i await impatiently for the dublin show tbc while hitting refresh every 5 seconds.

if the belfast show is on a thursday it would seem to me the dublin gig to fall on the tuesday or wednesday but i'm hoping against all common sense or knowledge that that gap 'tween the final mainland uk show and the belfast gig will be big enough to squeeze in another irish show as well as the dublin one. that'd be swell. whatever though, excited to have an electric show to look forward to.

Except for Chrome Hoof and Dan Deacon as well who are both worth checking out. I've read good things about Caribou too but haven't heard them myself. But the rest of of it? Yeah, shite.
But still that's 3 or 4 acts worth a look,so it might be worth it after all.

GGGGRRRRRRRR!!!!!! :(

got my bristol ticket for the weekend, at £30 + everything else, and now the kind souls @ gigantic have decided to sell sat or sun one day tickets at £22.

Why didnt they announce they would do this previously??? just wasted £10 or so!
Cos I dont plan to go on the sunday too. Unless someone else gets added to the list.

They band are on at the trinity venue, not been there, has anyone else?

Get cape, wear cape, fly, are on at the academy on the sat night.

cheers

Havn't been to Trinity for about 7 years. They always used to have a lot of dance parties there. Its an old church which has had its guts ripped out and is now just a space available to hire.Believe its a community centre during the day.Not to sure exactly but I think its a fair distance from the other venues.(Live in Cornwall now and memory is a lil hazy)
Is it a headliner and do we know how long they are on?

Has anyone got any information on the Dublin show? The site said it was to be announced shortly, but nothing has followed. If it's not going ahead, I'd get tickets for Belfast, but Dublin would be much easier.

Where is it stated? I've not heard or seen anything about it yet anywhere. Tripod would be good alright; and the 28th too, meaning not a Sunday or Monday!

It's mentioned here:

The link doesn't work, but it would make sense. Being Tripod would indicate they'll be at EP also.

Cheers Bob. I was thinking about EP last night and wondering would the organisers differentiate between Acoustic and Electric Mainlines as i think they operate a 'no band 2 years running' policy for the festie.

I don't think they have a policy like that, do they? Didn't 2many DJs play the first two years? Certainly did the first two.

The only reason I'm guessing they'll be there is that if it's Tripod this time, it will be run by Pod and hence, the band will have some sort of agreement with them.

I'm sure i heard/read that they don't invite bands back for a following year, although i may have imagined it :? . Also the 1st Picnic was just a 1-dayer so that might explain 2 Many DJs playing the first couple of years. I agree with you on the whole Pod/Tripod angle alright, seems logical. Just wish they'd get on with announcing the Dublin gig at least.

Did that happen ? Was thinking about possibly going but how can one book up a flight without knowing when to go ? Wouldn't it be easier if everything (single/album release dates, gig announcments, promise of exclusive tickets etc etc) just gets one date, like April 1st for example, and then work loosely around that ?

Soundwise, it's the best venue in Dublin. The only problem I have is that they seem to have decided the capacity based on what the venue and back bar holds, so it can be very very full if sold out.

Might get seated tickets for this to avoid such a problem.

It's maybe 15-20mins walk from Temple Bar, not far at all.

here's directions

As for seating, should give a good view. I got "upstairs standing" for Thurston Moore in December, but we we got seats off to the side of the balcony. The view was fine, but would be better from the assigned seats.

Here's their own site with some pictures.

When it's not sold out, it's far and away my favourite venue in Dublin.

An apology to spazed99...

Spazed99, what i've posted in this thread recently was belligerent, sarcastic, uncalled for, needless and unnesessary. For that, i apologise. I am looking forward to what promises to be a wonderful gig in Dublin and now being able to arrive 3 days early is even better. Thanks for the trouble you took to let us all know in advance (plus for being able to put the gig on) and again, i am truly sorry.

I got mine. :D

One other word of warning to anyone coming to this - it's right across the street from Dublin city's main cop shop, so given the band's - ahem - reputation, one would be advised to proceed with caution where certain forms of "refreshment" are concerned. ;)

Ticket in the bag, total €25 which I'm pretty happy about, especially as I'm over to Manchester to see MBV a month later. I think the last time I saw them in Dublin the price was very reasonable too.

With regard to 'refreshments' there's plenty of places to partake around the venue, just keep your eyes open. The cops over here have stopped wearing the fluorescent jackets all the time making them harder to spot!

For all those going to the Bristol Dot to Dot Festie, take my advice and check out Chrome Hoof. Fantastic live band. They came out on stage last night looking like they'd just stepped off George Clinton's Mothership; all spangly hooded cloaks and then they played what i can best describe thus, Imagine if Gong were starting out now and were into dance music with a few twists of funk and (on one occasion)Doom vocals thrown into the mix and you'd be close to their sound. Unmissable. :D

Cambridge and London for me. I was at the Sage gig and remember not being overly impressed by the new stuff which seemed kind of half finished. Mind you, I thought the same when I saw them on the american mini tour just before the release of AG. Hopefully in the interim they will have worked on live interpretations of the new stuff and it will sound better than in Gateshead.

They band are on at the trinity venue,

j

How did u find that out? All I can find about dot to dot is a listy of venues and a list of bands, but nothing to say who's on where / when.

I'm out all day saturday, but if I knoe spz are on in the evening I'll get a ticket.
