Doves - SATURDAY!!! 1st May 2010 GLASGOW

Post by Guessed »

Picked up tickets for the gf & I this morning, anyone on here going?

A Saturday night too!

May is looking like a good month; going to see Kevin Bridges (comedian) at the SECC towards the end of that month too.

I'm still deliberating whether to go to the Wolverhampton date.
I have seen them a couple of times recently, may seem like overkill but could be the last chance to see them for a while.

Nah I wouldn't go to Greenman just for them- think I have the reverse of everyone elses opinion on that lineup!, I can't see what the fuss is about with Joanna Newsom in particular.

No, I can't stand her either....that awful gurning thing she does when she sings in that stupid voice is ridiculous. The Greenman folkie crowd seem to love her though. :?

This concert was about 7.2/10.

Not overly enamoured by the setting...have never been to the O2 Academy...big booming sound worked well for B&W Town, Pounding but some subtely was lost on quieter numbers.

Bit of an overall rollercoaster...very instrumental start, bit of a dip with the not so great new stuff in the middle but rescued by Caught by the River, Cedar Room & There Goes The Fear.

Lovely encore but wish they'd bite the bullet and hit the vox with "aint no love aint no use".

Support act were decent, caught about half there set...Cherry Ghost.
