Tattoo Design

Post by Shaun »

Hi,

To celebrate the forthcoming LAGWAFIS shows...

I was thinking of a Spiritualized tattoo. What i am hoping to try and have
done is this......Have the main part of the album cover of Ladies & Gents
drawn up (actual size) but the circles to be two thin black lines instead
of a single line and then coloured red between them. Also right in the
middle of that will be the green cross on A&E booklet (actual size again)
then top and bottom of the circles it will be coloured a rich aqau blue
and inside them a lighter blue but only with a shading effect. Around all
of that i was thinking of having another outline (but not too wide) so to
give it a border which might get shaded grey so not giving it a thick
black outline. And along the bottom of the border i might have something
wrote in Latin so that will need to be wider than the other three sides.

So if there is anyone interested in designing something like that i'd appreciate it hugely. Tattoo is set for end of July.

Thanks,

Shaun.

Blimey - that sounds complex Shaun. Imaginative though.

I'm slightly biased as he's proved his talents at graphics but Mr. Modlab would be a decent place to start! He is a professional after all.

Give me a few days. I think you might want to go a tad simpler.
Also, I hope you know a fantastic artist especially for the typography.
Cheers runci!

It's probably not as complex as it sounds Mark and i think it will work. All i need is the basic outlines of the design at actual size, the colours and outer border can be added later. The circles and the cross together is proving difficult for me and i'm hopeless at art like this. I was hoping i might find a fantastic artist on here.

And also, the tattoo will go on the back of a leg.

Thanks for taking time out to help.

No it's not hard. Just I am piled up.

As for actual size that's easy.

Shaun,

be original. don't get a tattoo, even though it seems to be in vogue these days. wait until your a 50 y.o. git and realise you've made a mistake (faded ink on wrinkled skin) don't look too good. i know it's a spz design, but neverless. put your suggested artwork on canvas instead of skin ... :|

Totally disagree, he said its going on the back of his leg so it's not really going to be on show in his later years, plus it'll bring him a bit of pleasure so why not? I have the Spacemen logo on the top of my arm for 15 years now and am very happy i got it done.

Hey Shaun - did J get back to you on this?

It was mentioned to me but as she was unfamiliar with the album covers I would have to help out...sorry if you had no reply.

Don't think so Richard. It's today not ten years time.

I'm not sure Barry. I have until the last week of July for any designs sent.

I had it done but I want some extra work done on it before I post a pic, and that might be a very long time.

I think I'll throw this open to all you artists out there. I've been thinking of having another tattoo done soon. Design is a simple one. The basic CND symbol but the outer circle to be small chain links (possibly one breaking open) with the inner part however seems effective although across the middle there should be a gap with IMAGINE being wrote. If anyone as any ideas feel free to get in touch or post on here. Thanks.

Yes it would be. Maybe it'll look good mixed in with the other one I'm going to have done.

Have a few tattoo's & have been interested in getting something Spz related as well. Would like to see how this turned out (not copy - just interested).
