Happy Mondays Reform

Post by spacemanrich »

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but just read that the Happy Mondays just reformed ...... again w/ original lineup :

Looks like a bit of the Stone Roses rubbed off on them or is it the $$$$ ?

No mention of Mark Day - it would take a lot for that guy to work with Shaun Ryder again but his guitar is crucial to the Mondays sound for me.

Mark Day and Gary Whelan are confirmed too. They will be doing a documentary on the tour and re-releasing Pill's Thrills & Bellyaches as a special edition.

I wonder how long it'll be before Mark and Paul try to kill Shaun. Serious bad blood there.

Mark is a very underrated guitarist in my view - such a relaxed feel to his playing.

I didn't even know they'd split up? I saw them a few years back and I think they're best days are behind them. A far cry from when I saw Black Grape at T in the Park back in 95 - Great show and great band.

Just occurred to me, I guess there could be a Stone Roses/Mondays show (they'd all be wrecked though). I guess a real possibility now!

Haha. I'm half addicted to the Daily Mash. Some of it's spot on. Harsh? Dunno, it always gets a laugh from me... :D

Band reforming and tour, with a deluxe edition of a 'classic' album? Whether it is or not, bored of this now.

ryder is clean as a whistle these days amazingly. several friends were in the most recent monday reformation (which was ryder, whelan, bex and a backing band), and he was slowly improving then.

though im amazed shaun and paul ryder are speakling, there was some spectacular nastiness which occured between them in the last ten years.
