Re: Number 6 Festival
Blimey that looks pretty good actually. Could be just the kind of festival I'm looking for to celebrate turning 40 in July. Wonder what other bands they're going to announce as they've gone for three pretty "retro" headliners?

Booked--now the tricky part of getting the time off work, when i've already booked all my holidays.
Re: Number 6 Festival
Got to say this does look pretty good. It'll be excellent.
Still getting over the date for the Roundhay House gig, a monday night!! Why couldn't have just been on the saturday?

Re: Number 6 Festival
Shit... I need to get these booked tonight then. Me and the Mrs are well up for this. Now need to try and persuade a few of my mates to come and join us. Be interested to see who else is going to be on the line up. I'm hoping for some drone in the form of Gnod, White Hills or Carlton Melton. Kurt Vile or War on Drugs would be good. Anyway, there's no point in speculating I guess.

That's what I thought- otherwise another £30 a head. Could be bull, but that's what they posted to FB/Twitter.

I could well be tempted by this too. 3 decent headliners there, and the location is pretty cool...

Looks like it was just a marketing ploy... early bird tickets have now sold out. Glad the Mrs got in on time. Now looking forward to further line-up announcements.sm-iom wrote:According to organisers, early bird tickets expected to sell out by the morning...

Quite a few interesting additions to the festival including British Sea Power, Richard Hawley, King Creosote and Gruff Rhys amongst others.

Re: Number 6 Festival
hmm Hookworms aside, this years lineup isn't looking as good as last year is it?

Not a puller yet no.angelsighs wrote:hmm Hookworms aside, this years lineup isn't looking as good as last year is it?
Although I do fancy getting my dancing shoes/wellies on for Daniel Avery, Weatherall and Robertson.
I'm on a lads golf trip (rock and rol!l) in Abersoch that same weekend. Round the corner, but not much hope of getting to F6 unless I swallow the full weekend rate of £170 for just the Sunday.
Re: Number 6 Festival
It's not just about the music. Great atmosphere last year. Think you can now get day tickets.
Re: Number 6 Festival
Just checked - yes you can @ £65. Really fancy it.sm-iom wrote:It's not just about the music. Great atmosphere last year. Think you can now get day tickets.

Re: Number 6 Festival
Also like the sound of Public Service Broadcasting. Not heard them until now, but YouTube stuff sounds great fun.

Re: Number 6 Festival
ah yes Public Service Broadcasting seem to be on the up.. I am seeing them all over the place and I think the album has even got into the charts.
I really like the idea of their music (it's riddled with samples from old propaganda films and stock footage- I think voice samples can be really evocative), but I had a listen to a few tracks and found the music itself quite lightweight and weak in places. they played live near me recently but I didn't bother.

Re: Number 6 Festival
Well it's this coming weekend.
I think I'm looking forward to it - another year older, and the body is less tent-friendly - but the forecast looks kinda OK. The bill isn't anywhere near as strong as last years, so hoping to not be too hung up on stage times, and to just explore. Must though catch MBV and Hookworms..
