Coachella 2013

Post by spacemanrich »

After the announcement of the Primavera Festival 2013, here is the official lineup for Coachella 2013:
http://blog.sfgate.com/loaded/2013/01/2 ... 13-lineup/

Depends on the bands that you like, the 1st nite w/ Stone Roses and Blur looks fantastic. They'll be playing both weekends.
Spiritualized will be also be playing both weekends w/ New Order, Sigur Ros and Postal Service. Why does Phoenix get top billing for Saturday's slot ? Really ?

Any of you across the pond listened to the just released New Order album, " Lost Sirens " yet ???

This is precisely why I do not do festivals.

A. I do not want to stand in a big field with tens of thousands of people while I'm listening to music.
B. I do not want to stand in a big field with these people.

Did the Stone Roses ever make any real impact in the US? I'm not really surprised that a decent amount of people (especially those in their early 20s and younger) haven't really heard of them.

To be fair, while I've heard of Phoenix, I know nothing by them, and if they were announced as headliners at Glastonbury I'd be as baffled as the people going on about the Stone Roses are.

Stones Roses made a splash here in the US. Mainly in shops that carried imports. There were so many singles leading up to their first LP. Then poof! They seemingly disappeared. So I guess to the casual "alternative music" fan they may have been considered one hit wonders.
Nothing like the UK at all.

In this day in age with information readily available at your fingertips, it seems like anyone looking to avoid embarrassment might do a quick google search before taking to twitter.
