The Neptune, Seattle - 04/08/2013

Post by toomilk »

Another great show. Same set list, but band was much tighter than previous nights.

Wonderful venue, got a chance to sit first row center of balcony - near perfect seats. Security was a little of a buzz kill, roaming around the venue throughout the show. The neighborhood (U District?) is really sketchy. Lots of very young homeless kids that are clearly in their positions because of drugs. Walking to a Car2Go was an experience with packs of them asking me if I wanted to get high. Weird, but very sad stuff.

Show Highlights:
-a lot more noodling this show. Between doggen and Jason, there were at least 7 broken strings.

-take your time and walking with Jesus were unbelievable.

-Sound was good, got a lot more keyboards in the mix.

-the spunkier back up singer with shorter hair wasn't performing tonight. There was someone else. They also played tambourines and maracas on a few numbers.

-Doggen used the harmonica on "the road" and "hey Jane."

-lots of childish playing with shadow puppets going on with the projector.

Can't wait for Portland tomorrow!

I am envious, but equally impressed at how you're managing to keep going!

You mean, tonight! 8)

Looking forward to meeting you and having a few pre-gig drinks. I think the sun may even be coming out for you! If you are truly blessed the clouds might part and allow the mountain to make an appearance. :D

Review. I've actually spent a lysergic night with the guy who reviewed this. Well he had a lysergic night. Not me.
