I have the Lisburn show recording too. Plus I was at it in 04. Was at the island arts centre in Lisburn. I have a few photos from the night too somewhere.

BZAs Bootleg Requests...

Here's the thing.

The last 12-16 months have been tumultuous on a personal scale which I could never have imagined, and I certainly was without the appropriate psychic defense.

Currently laid-off work (unpaid :( )... on massive doses of antibiotics and painkillers.

Hence my attempted comeback via social media, and this place which is very dear to me.

Geo-political mayhem aside, I've also had a chance to go back and rework heaps of awesome Spiritualized® bootlegs and just make them that slight bit sweeter... at least for playing in the car and these incredible SoundMagic earbuds via my phone.

A real labour of love here. I've tinkered with it on and off for years, but the person who recorded this show has to be commended as he got a fantastic and proper stereo recording of a true Spiritualized® Big Band.

Whatever else I've said on here in recent times, just please put that shit to one side and download, play and enjoy as loud and fast as you can get away with.

For iPhone users, this ace new 'Late Night' EQ setting might just make it sound that bit better - if headphones your only option.

Having been ultra-privileged to have attended this gig, I just tried to make the recording sound as much as I heard in my head that epochal evening.

I confess I spent ridiculous amounts of time fine-tuning insane levels of EQ - but I had to make sure the vast Heritage Orchestra and a gospel choir had to be heard, along with the incredible talents of the fabled Spiritualized Triple Guitar Destruction of Jason (R), Coxon (C) and the outstanding Doggen (L).

His slide work at some points will make you cry BTW...

And if you love 'Headin' To The Top Now' as much as I do, then I think you'll find a large orchestra playing sheer random noise from Saturn, while Doggen just does his thing every bit as emotional and... fucking hell!... as me.

this sounds massive! I listened to this one quite a bit when it first showed up- 'Headin' for the top now,' 'Mary' and 'So long...' were better than the album versions, plus there's that absurdly great version of 'Sway!' Thank you!

sorry to hear about your troubles- it's good that you're keeping yourself busy.

someone recently asked me to share the FLACs from the 'Ladies and gentlemen...' Radio City Music Hall show on another site and I figured I'd leave them in my dropbox for another week or two in case anyone here wants them.

just finished listening to the RAH 2011 remaster too (a few times actually 8) ). bloody amazing! a real improvement on an already great recording of a very special gig. one of my favourite spiritualized gig experiences in fact, and totally unique in terms of setlist/expectation. i have to agree that some of these versions ended up being (in my opinion) superior to the ones on the album - there's a certain weight that i love about these versions and the recording seems to capture them as occupying a huge, echoey space, while the album versions are all immediate and direct and just... different (which is fine).

love the version of 'hey jane' here, particularly the spine-tingling second half. 'so long' is gorgeous too. jason's vocals are great and there's just so much emotion in every line, especially on 'mary'. these are also my favourite recordings of 'i am what i am' and 'heading for the top now' - as shalloboi says, just 'massive'! and then there's the encore tracks... wow...

many thanks BZA!

p.s. i'd forgotten about the 'rocket science!' guy. wonder if that was that someone on here?

Deep Ellum Dallas 12 Dec 1997

https://www.dropbox.com/s/t69apyh2d4ip5 ... 201997.zip

Couple of great shows with the LAG band. A few months apart but by the Dallas show the whole gig is practically one long segue. The Garage show was originally broadcast on XFM which is why it has that massive, super-compressed sound but a good recording of a good show all the same.
The Deep Ellum gig was known to me as 'The Nitrous Oxide' show and listening a few minutes in will make it obvious why...
A really nice soundboard - there plenty of panning and effects on the instruments and this show has a really druggy, hazy vibe. Love it. Originally one long recording which has been spliced into seperate tracks and early on the sound level dropped a lot, hopefully I've remedied this and brought the whole gig up for maximum impact. Originally sent to me by Shaun back in the day - cheers!
I just listened to 'Electric Mainline' from this show on the way to work. It took me somewhere very special - I know not where - but it's been a while since I've been there. Thanks BZA!

Just listened to the Pitchfork Paris show via some new gear. that is a neat show, does anyone know who is drumming for them at the mo/ or at least that gig? he is totally on the money as my old man would say. best drummer Jason has used for ages - do not sack him!!! :)

Cool... I've been playing that show pretty constantly since it emerged. It's awesome!

Drummer is Johnny Aitken - he did some of the drumming on Amazing Grace when Kev Bales was ill, so he has some history with the band.

Having witnessed his prowess at the incredible Brudenell show I agree with you!

nice one, may do a bit of googling, he is very tight and snappy, i like it a lot, for me the drums have been lacking in recent years - no disrespect to anyone . even Kid Millions wasnt doing it for me in the SPZ environment.

We should get some music flowing again.
There was a show from 2001 from The Pyramid?
Possibly a sbd?
Partial show.

Who can upload it?

the Portsmouth Pyramids boot is awesome. proper release worthy in terms of quality. not sure if it's a radio broadcast or a leak straight from the band like the one from the Amazing Grace tour. I've got it as one long file, will have a look tonight.

I would defo have been at this, the more I think about it the starting with Stop Your Crying does ring a bell, although the timing does coincide with the tale end of my `partying period` so detail are a touch sketchy, a few Barrowland gigs from that period do seem to blur into each other, but thanks for sharing guys, interesting to hear as it`s a pretty good recording.

Thanks.
I recall having a show from First Avenue in Minneapolis that was good.
I think it was almost identical to the San Francisco show.
Neither of those shows I have anymore.
I just wish there were some really great audio quality shows from this era.

Would be interested in the New York show if the sound quality is worth the listen.

I have it on tape but it's a pretty crap recording. A couple of others had it on tape too IIRC but I think it was the same recording as mine. Other than that I've never come across it.
I would have to say it was the worst of the three early 90s Glasto performances. Very good, but not brilliant like '92 and '93.

interesting detail. i've always thought glasto 94 was impressive, setlist was different from the others (ex: the slide song, etc..) anyway, i have wothington show so maybe they would be similar.

also, i would like to have these if anyone has it:

August 24, 1996 - Silk City, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Cop Shoot Cop
Shine A Light
Electric Mainline
Desert
Feel Like Going Home
All Of My Tears
Take Your Time
Come Together
Walking With Jesus

Greetings again... and sorry it's been so long.

This is probably one of my favourite Spiritualized gigs ever... and not only because I was there.

I need to thank the amazing sml for the initial recording of this... I only really upped and widened shit for playing through my phone.

This was inspired by my pal ORBITAL (who was there too) who sent me this this clip recently - it was like a time machine as I can see myself and my pals bouncing about like the ecstatic maniacs that we were back then... :o

1992 - September 9 @ East Wing Centre, Brighton
1993 - April 2 @ Hackney Empire, London
1993 - May 14 @ Glasgow Pavilion
1993 - June 1 @ Roskilde Festival, Denmark

1997 - December 12 @ Deep Ellum Live, Dallas, TX
2001 - October 1 @ Manchester Academy
2001 - October 31 @ Metro, Chicago, IL

Just take care, as zippyshare can seem to open up a dodgy link when you first try to download - just close it straight away, and re-try.
