It's great isn't it? Was just listening to that again over the last few days and it's just amazing. I saw them in Brighton around that time with what must have been a similar setlist, though we got treated to 'may the circle be unbroken'. I have great memories from that gig and get to use the sydney recording as a memento. Cheers to whoever did the recording! :)

This bootleg - always a favourite, epic AG era show - feels relatively recent.

Yet it's exactly 15 years old today...

Going thru a bit of a Cop Shoot Cop obsession at the mo and the version on this Toronto show is awesome; the end section has an amazing slowly unfurling guitar crescendo.

Does anyone have the ginormous Real Complete Works that was compiled here a few years ago??

yep superb boot this one, the quality is worthy of release. I think I remember people saying at the time, that it may have even been Jason himself that leaked it.
Amazing Grace pretty much in its entirety, and Run!!! highly recommend this one.

I listened to it recently and it made me think that This Little Life of Mine is actually a pretty fine tune when those guitars get going

Bloody hell. Off the top of my head I only have a couple of DVDs, stuff like The Black Sessions on proper CD, the Real Complete Works on CDs and 2 or 3 live gigs I've downloaded recently! I may have more bootleg stuff, but my whole music collection is is in storage at the moment and has been for a few years, so I'm not sure what's there. But nothing compared to that!

^^^^^^ Should point out that the above recording is a remaster (not by BZA!) and is definitely punchier than the original recording. I think the remaster was done by someone here under a different name. I could be wrong about that though!

I saw them twice in 1998 and they were nowhere near as good or interesting as this gig. Love the middle section of The Individual > Sway > Take Good Care Of It > 200 Bars 8)

I am looking for Glastonbury 1998, 2002 and 2007 please if anyone has them? FLAC preferably but whatever's to hand is fine. Thanks.

Royal Festival Hall 2004 - part 1

As requested... the last gig of the 2 year AG tour.

These are CDR rips so in pure WAV format, at one point I'd tracked the whole gig and worked with the sound, long gone on a dead HD though.

To be honest not the greatest show from the tour as far as bootlegs go, although 'Cheapster' will rip your face off and that mellow 'I Think I'm In Love' is something else.

Thanks to the unknown taper who sent me the CDRs way back when.

I am absolutely desperate for a particular 1995 gig that I recently lost. I am almost positive it is the Slim's San Francisco gig from November 1, 1995. It is absolutely amazing, ferocious performance all the way through. Tracklist was as follows:

Pure Phase
Cop Shoot Cop
Shine a Light
Electric Mainline
Lay Back in the Sun
Electricity
Come Together
Take Your Time
All of My Tears
Walking With Jesus
Medication
Take Me to the Other Side
These Blues

I'm also looking for any other great gigs from early times, 1992-1998, and anything from the Let It Come Down era aside from Fox Theater, Warfield and Wiltern, which I already have. Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks for that, I'll hopefully be able to find a computer today so I can download and burn it for playback.

Setlist.fm shows Slims, San Francisco 1995 as 1st November, their last gig of the year. The earliest 1995 Spiritualized gig shown is 17th January at Jongleurs in Camden, with a relatively short set at what appears to be a standalone gig, rather than part of a tour (though I appreciate Setlist.fm is not always a complete historical record).

I'm currently unable to access most of my archived live boots from that period, but as I recall I had a few great sound quality recordings I used to listen to a lot, with pretty much the same set list as the Slims gig.

At least one included a text doc of details from the person who originally recorded the gig (or disseminated for those direct from the mixing desk) noting that for the final track These Blues, Kate Radley played Sean Cook's bass - freeing him up to play the prominent harp part.

Interestingly stats for 1995 show These Blues was the fourth most played live number, with 18 outings. By contrast Walking With Jesus came in sixth place, with only 16 performances...those were the days! To be fair I noticed there were at least two Radio 1 sessions included in those 1995 figures, and presumably WWJ had already appeared at least once in some previous R1 session.

Was Kate playing the bass the norm in that period when playing These Blues live, or just an occasional harmonica bonus treat for certain lucky audiences?

Re: BZAs Bootleg Requests...

by freddiehubbard
^ I think they always swapped for Cook to play his harp, they did it for 'take good care of it' also.

Yep, Kate playing bass on These Blues was the norm. She did it at Glasto '94. It replaced Smiles as the set closer.

AFAIK the Camden Jongleurs gig was either an album launch/fan club gig or part of the NME Brats tour, hence the shorter set.
Im sure Tufty digitised my cassette a few years back. Will have a look when I get the chance.

What I'd really myself like is more boots from the first LICD leg when it was full band ensemble rather than the stripped down version. That latter half of the tour seems well served (once they started playing the festivals in summer 2002 especially- obviously a lot of them are recorded) but I'd love more from the full kit and kaboodle even if it was potentially clunky at times.

I've got an audience recording of a 2001 show (think it might be the Wiltern) which I really enjoy. it also has rare recorded evidence of Jason talking on stage! (he dedicates a song to Richie Lee from Acetone who had recently taken his own life)
