Moderator note - for clarity and ease of use I have split some post from the other Spz. bootleg thread and moved them here instead... BZA Aug 2013

sorry if I missed it before, but is there a link to that somewhere?
http://shalloboi.bandcamp.com/album/fie ... wers-vol-2

just came out yesterday. it was paid for by our band's kickstarter. it's supposed to be one of four singles- it's the second actually. this is because the pressing plant that we sent the first single to is taking an obscene amount of time pressing it (over 6 months at this point- totally inexcusable which is why we tried a different plant for the second single).

the slow one is EKS in brooklyn. they do all of the captured tracks and woodsist vinyl. it seemed like a good value for the price (which was very reasonable). unfortunately they don't respond to emails or phone calls.

this one was done by rainbo records.

i recently read that EKS has either shut down or is possibly moving to New Jersey.

this from a guy i know who runs a small record label.

thanks for the head's up- i appreciate it.
it serves me right in a way because i didn't do all of my research on them.
but yeah, they've been so unresponsive from the get-go- they don't respond to emails or phone calls.
i'm glad i know this now, though. i'm going to just go ahead and get that single pressed at rainbo- their turnaround was a nice, solid three months and they were always very responsive.

After hearing about BZaInSpace's hard drive problems, I cobbled together some random live stuff for him with a couple of extra bits and pieces too. Seems a shame not to share them now with everyone else. I've got some Spz stuff too, but it's from the old site, so guess most people should have it. If anyone's missing anything, I'm always happy to reupload it if that's OK with the original poster. Here you go guys anyway.....

The sharp-eyed among you will have noticed the same file name for Mazzy Star and Belly - that was my error copying and pasting file names too quickly. Belly was in fact Live @ The Black Sessions 12.01.1993.
If anything isn't there when you get to it, I'll happily reupload when I have the time.
Anyone find any gems there that they've enjoyed or if they've not had the time to listen were at least happy to see to get round to later?
I'll try and do another batch but these things take time.........!

Does anybody have Spetrum Highs, Lows and Heavenly Blows? I know it's not a bootleg but it' been out of print for a long time and the only reasonable copy I can find is off off youtube. It would be highly appreciated

Yep, pretty much. Just use your own judgement and if possible support the artists in other ways - go to a gig, buy a shirt, buy them a beer...

Thanks very much for another excellent Belle & Sebastian boot - it's the best I've heard so far from the early part of their career, at last a decent live "Dog on Wheels" and "Lazy Line Painter Jane"!

Couple of quick qu's if possible: i) who's singing the female part on "Lazy Line..."? ii) Also having put this safely on the SD card in my phone, I can't see what the file type and bitrate this gig is but would like to know?

(I guess a good third question is can anyone advise how to see file types etc on downloads to Samsung mobiles, and is there a better player than Google Player for organising and playing back music? Currently find myself often duplicating folders with playlists just to get the tracks in the right order - sometimes even when the start of the file name is clearly numbered; this is getting tedious, there must be a simpler way!)

I've found footage of the soundtrack to LLPJ here:

http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=relmfu&v=O4Dob9hLCK4

But have no idea who that is with the short dark hair. Also I noticed no sign on Isobel Campbell on this gig, but thought she was still in the band in 1999 ... unless that's her with darker hair than usual and a very different voice to that which I am familiar with?!?

Following the re-emergence of the board, had an idea based on this that I did a while ago (looked at the date this morning and can't quite believe how long ago it actually was!).

Anyway, it goes like this, and I appreciate this will need to go through the mods for checking. I know there may well be potential copyright issues as well as posting etiquette to bear in mind. I know some of us do post music here already, and FM Spaceman does some pretty awesome compilations too.

I thought we could do a service to post live bootleg requests or hard to find / deleted recordings for each other.

Can I have some feedback form mods regarding this, as well as possible interest from other people. What would and wouldn't be allowed here......?

Have a few Sp3 and Spz shows that I'm missing and would like - will try and post info later as am at work at the moment, but I was actually reopening the thread more as an offer to all to get us communicating and swap the great music that there is out there (live and recorded). People like FM Spaceman and Jeffrey of course, and BZa among others already do a sterling job. When I uploaded and posted all those various bits a few years ago it went down well, and now that the mods have got the board up and running again, I though tit'd be a good idea. Still unsure of the guidelines regarding falling foul of copyright, as well as any etiquette regarding this though.

Many thanks for the offer of live stuff - will try and come back to you - should live Sp3 / Spz / Spectrum stuff go under BZa's old thread perhaps.....?

Anyway, it goes like this, and I appreciate this will need to go through the mods for checking. I know there may well be potential copyright issues as well as posting etiquette to bear in mind. I know some of us do post music here already, and FM Spaceman does some pretty awesome compilations too.

I thought we could do a service to post live bootleg requests or hard to find / deleted recordings for each other.

Can I have some feedback form mods regarding this, as well as possible interest from other people. What would and wouldn't be allowed here......?
Doesn't necessarily need to be Spacemen / Spz related, and in fact was meant to be to with anything, but what are thoughts from the moderators? REALLY don't want o fall foul of anything, or annoy anyone at all!
