Not actually heard any Slipstream but are you sure they're playing at the Engineers in Brighton. The only Engineers I can think of down here is a tiny old man's pub...not really an ideal gig venue. Unless there is another Engineers??? :?

Hi Andy

Hope you're well. The Slipstream gig in Brighton is at
a place called The Freebutt and is on Monday April
11th. An American group called Dreamend on the
Graveface label are supporting.

Cheers,

Mark.

Did anyone go to the gig at the Freebutt. Thought it was ok. I personally, like to see a full band, it adds more to the live experience for me, and the vocals could of been higher, but they were knocking out some sounds for only two of them, no matter how Karoke, it looks.

Highlight, the drummer of Frankie Goes to Hollywood playing maracas with them on stage at the end.

I enjoyed it, but not as much as the London gig earlier in the year (or was it last year now?). Having said that, some of the songs were really coming through for me now, having heard them live a few times. I like the glam stomp one a lot. Always great to hear Just You And Me, my favourite from Transcendental. And what other band could be told they only have two minutes left, and then manage to fill it exactly with one of their best songs!

Brighton crowds are always a bit shit, I find.

So who were you? I was the fat bearded bloke standing in the middle with the Recurring badge.

Love,

Ian

Mark had a good time with PSB in Moscow last Saturday and Slipstream have been recording a new single this week.

Last time the boys played here, the audience (all 30 or so of us) included Sonic and Will (also DJ'ing). So nearly a complete S3 line-up.

Nearly.

As Jools Holland once said, "Be there or be a completely ungroovy fucker"

Now which Spacemen t-shirt to wear... gonna have to be Playing with Fire (was there ever a Recurring t-shirt?).

more on the forthcoming slipstream single

What I can tell you is that it's an untitled
track with no words except for a robot voice reciting
the vowels of the alphabet. It's gonna be mixed by a
guy called Bob Kraushaar who works with Pet Shop Boys.
It won't sound like them obviously but hopefully he'll
get a big sound going.

and mr carruthers is in the studio working on the follow next freelovebabies album, and not (as some may believe), wasting his time whinging on here about the hoxton based spaceman

Some new Slipstream dates...

25th September Soundhaus, Northampton

7th October Labour Club, Northampton

8th November Roadmenders, Northampton

Title of forthcoming single is 'Lost for Words' (I think I've seen that mentioned round here before). B-Side will be 'When the Summer's Gone'.
