I was just thinking a new album was due! the new one is a mix of covers, reworkings etc.
I've seen them live twice and found them a mixed bag to be honest. but I'm still well up for this. former guitarist Dave Schramm is back in the fold for this album which i think will be interesting- a fuller live sound will be good.

Re: Yo La Tengo tour (and new album etc)
Thanks! Definitely going to catch the London show.
I've seen them 8 times. One show was a sit down matinee which was absolutely amazing.

I'll probably catch the last date on the tour in Vancouver. The venue is one of those old theaters - very cool.
edit: word has it the performances will be acoustic (?)

Re: Yo La Tengo tour (and new album etc)
When I saw them in Liverpool a couple of years ago, they played a split set, one half quiet, the other half loud, so it wouldn't surprise me if they played some acoustic shows.
Looking forward to this new album. Have been listening to Popular Songs quite a bit recently.
