Could this possibly feature the happiest Jason interview ever? Never seen him so smiley

Thanks for the link Veiko.

More smiley than here?

His like a kitten who saw christmas tree first time in his life. No offense, but we are more used to having a brick wall around you Jase. What was that Spanish interview in youtube, where first question was "Do you give at all interviews without sunglasses?"? And Jase just pauses and that pause is most meaningful thing in this century, then he just replies smirking "Yeah".

Great to see Anything More get a rare outing in the Japan show.

He really does come across as weirdly chipper in that Coachella interview. I imagine that's what he's like talking to his actual mates rather than evil music journalists

It’s a shame that I hadn’t seen them in that era. But so happy to hear Jason approved of Japan as the most psychedelic place on the planet. And he must lecture Threaten guy that gigs don’t work without audience:(
And its selection of songs is good. It makes me check out some bootlegs around that time again.
Thanks, veiko!

That video is incredible - thanks so much for posting. The end of ‘things won’t be the same’ is wild. Strung out, violent, unhinged, white hot electricity. The way they keep building the noise is just immense. Thanks Veiko you’re a legend x

To borrow a phrase, but it seems like the spz experience comes in waves. 2004 was one of the peaks for me. I know for others that wasn’t the case but for me it was one of those defining experiences that we’ve all had with the band.
I think this video captures a lot of what I loved about it.
While it was fun it wasn’t a fun show, it was a statement. You can see this explicitly around 44mins in, where the white noise & assault of the 3 guitars drops out to a moment of silence. The crowd doesn’t react with cheers or whooping, they’re invested into where the journey is going next & Broken Heart comes in.
2004/Amazing Grace was a rollercoaster with real variation and mastery. It’s one of those moments I’ve been chasing & this video captures it. Thank you.
gonna burn brightly
