Anyone making the patronage from London to Newcastle?

I was bidding for a very cheap train ticket on eBay which got pulled by the regulators (bastards!), and now I am looking at a hundred pound train/air ticket which, if you add the cost of accomodation, I can barely afford...

Any hints on travel/unwanted train tickets/lifts(!) from the capital greatly appreciated...

it's refugee travel, but megabus.com would, in a worst case scenario, get you there pretty cheap - it won't be as cheap booking now but even if it means a bizarre route i'm sure you could get a lot closer.

yes go megabus, it may not get you all the way to newcastle, but ill bet a train from leeds is a damn sight cheaper than flying! (then again....)

How about begging on hre for a lift, im sure someone else has to be doing the pilgrimage,....
