I'd be interested to know if Spiritualized is playing at any non smoking gigs.

the sage was supposedly non smoking. and what was that all-seater venue they played early nineties? nightmare.

i'm assuming that in sage everyone piled in and did the same thing as normal (and the stewards didn't take action at that stage to control it).

would this be different in the u.s for instance or is there the same culture of smoking at gigs

my mate saw plaid and jamie lidell at the sage a few weeks ago. at the aftershow party in another room, he lit up a tab - all the lights came on and the music stopped!

i think everyone had to stay behind until he owned up.

they past two times they played atlanta, GA it was non-smoking. but i think that is just the policy of the venue(earthlink-centerstage)

I can't tolerate smoking.

no smoking venues are completely nuts. the belfast waterfront sports such a policy. i was there recently to see beck and sparked up a bifter only to be greeted with a torch shone in my face. fortunately the security couldnt tell the difference and assumed it was a normal smoke. and thankfully also, i had a well proportioned mate who was able to block their line of sight to me the next two times, though when it was handed to him or he lit a proper cigarette he was torched.

and its not like beck was any good that night. he really needs to get rid of that dancer.

fuck, is he into all that is he. I read somwehere that he was on tour with the flaming lips, and coyne reckons he never spoke to them, the whole tour. What a prick ( cool looking prick, though )

Yeah I saw that tour, Beck was great (missed the Lips due to poor subway directions), but the lips deserve better then to back up Beck, though they should really change up their setlists.

i met him around 2 years ago after a gig, and he was a nice guy. Just stood round talking with him and My Morning Jacket for a while.

Though Wayne Coyne remains the nicest, coolest guy in Music.
