Spiritualized announce full acoustic tour
Gigs will also feature strings and a choir
Spiritualized have announced a fully acoustic tour.

Frontman and songwriter Jason Pierce will be accompanied by a string quartet, a gospel choir and Spiritualized guitarist Doggen on keyboards at the gigs, set to take place in April.

The group will be performing songs by Spiritualized and Pierce's former group Spacemen 3, as well as a selection of covers.

The acoustic version of the group will also be supporting Massive Attack on their February tour, and will appear at the All Tomorrow's Parties festival in April.

Pierce is currently mixing the band's new album, the follow-up to 2003's 'Amazing Grace'.

The tour calls at:

Glasgow Academy (April 23)
Leeds City Varieties (24)
Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall (25)
London Shepherd's Bush Empire (26)
Minehead Butlins All Tomorrow's Parties (28)

Leeds City Varieties can't confirm if this date is definate or not yet.
It's nice to be liked,
But it's better by far to get paid.

what Leeds City Varieties like as a venue?

Only I think I'm gonna avoid the Wolves gig as it will definitely be full of pissed-up whistlers and singalongers. That would just spoil the memory of the St Mary's Church gig.

Creaky. It's an old-skool musichall and that. The ceiling is fancy.

It probably would be, they currently have nothing else to shout about.

No tickets on sale in Leeds yet.

City Varieties is a listed building and pretty nice inside. Very old-fashioned.

I'll be snapping up London tickets too. Vaguely crestfallen as I wanted some noise this time...

Yeah, too right. Although I have to say that the QEH acoustic show was incredible. Hopefully there'll be a full tour with the release of the new album.
