Spectrum shows

Post by Shinesalight »

Just seen that Spectrum are playing a show in my home town, Brighton, on Tuesday 16th March. Didn't know anything about this but it came up on the weekly gig listing that my local record store e-mails me. Well pleased as its a really great venue (The Freebutt) and I missed their performance here last year as I was away in San Francisco.

Did a bit of research, and the only other upcoming show I found for them was in Manchester, at Moho on Sunday 14th March.

The London date of what looks like a pretty extensive European tour has now been announced. It's at The Luminaire in Kilburn on Wednesday 17th March. It's a Sonic Cathedral night and the support is from very special guests who can't be named. How exciting!

While flicking around on YouTube this morning, I stumbled accross these clips which I'd never seen:-

A couple of really stripped down versions of Spaceman classics. Really looking forward to the Spectrum show in March 8)

Speaking of Brighton (and assuming it's still on after what happened in Manchester), if anyone sees an overweight bearded guy, wearing a black jacket with one Spacemen 3 badge and another like this... well, come over and say hi...
I have a passion sweet Lord...

Went into the record store where I bought the tickets to see if they had any news about tomorrows gig and they said someone had been earlier asking about the gig too (was that you Ian or someone else on here as the story of the bassist being in a coma was the same?). They rang the promoter and he was none the wiser, as far as he was concerned the gig was still on.

Really great fucking gig last night. Sonic was on top form, laughing and joking with the crowd and just seeming like he was really enjoying himself. The setlist was exactly the same as the Sheffield gig (Mary, Set Me Free, Che, When Tomorrow Hits, Revolution, War Sucks and Suicide) and it certainly didn't disappoint. It was great seeing Guto on bass and he seemed to fit in seemlessly. Jason, the guitarist was phenomonal and the highlights for me were Che and When Tomorrow Hits where his guitar work was fantastic. Really looking forward to the new album.

Nice review, wish I'd gone along. I love the fact that loads of people obviously turned up just to see the non appearance of MGMT. Suckers

here are some pictures from last week`s gig in Cologne :

I guess it was pretty much the same setlist from what I had read before the gig. Audience about 75 - 100 people.

Apparently not a cover. I asked and was told that:
'They have been playing a song that Pete has been using the lyric 'you do right' for.... It is a new song in progress.'
