I bought this from Specimen Guitars here in Chicago. He's only made a handful. Andrew Bird has one and Alex Kapranos from Franz Ferdinand has one. Dig it.

It plays like a dream. I'm going to try it out at rehearsal tonight for the first time at full volume.

Beautiful guitar, I must say! How did it sound at full power at rehearsal?
Alex Kapranos? Seriously?! That means that 33.33% of people who own this guitar are talentless twats.

We will have to agree to disagree on Kapranos. I like Franz Ferdinand.
The Maxwell sounded great at rehearsal. It's very, very light and a slightly shorter scale (25") than I'm used to. The only real issue I had with it was the fact that it does not have the fret marker dots on the edge of the neck. I found this to be particlarly troublesome when I was singing and playing at the same time. I never realized how heavily I relied on them until they were gone! Ian, the builder and owner of Specimen, is going to add the dots for me, so the guitar is currently back in his hands for the time being. I hope to pick it up this Saturday.
