Any Pogues fans...?

Post by runcible »

This is hilarious. When I worked at Virgin in London we had to ask Mr. MacGowan to leave the shop as he was smashed and dribbling cigarette ash all over the videos.

The man getting out of his chair and careering into the wall is a nice touch.

f8CKIN` brilliant ! the man`s a bit of a genius really ,I reckon 50/100 or more years people will still be belting out his tunes ,probably pissed ,but still , they`ll still be listening and singing .... A Rainy Night In Soho is a personal fav. ,always makes me think of friends who weren`t as lucky as me coz life can be pretty random .

I went to a Paddy's day show at the Albert Hall (I think) in about 1988 (ish - might have been as early as 1986). I have vague recollections of enjoying it hugely, but as I was totally hammered (as was everybody else) I can't be sure.

Spider's biscuit tin lid solo on Waxy's Dargle is still a cherished memory of The Pogues in their heyday from the very early 1980s.

Saw them at The House Of Blues in the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas a few years ago, McGowan shuffled onto the stage like an old man but once the music started he was like a man possesed, great stuff the place was bouncing :D

They are playing across the street from my shop Friday night. Hopefully one of them will come in and guest list us.
