We went to the north eastern corner of Oregon for a week (Hells Canyon area). Popped into the small farming town of Enterprise, Oregon where the Terminal Gravity Brewery is located. They sell the beer here in Portland and it is pretty damn good so wanted to go to the brewery itself. Ends up being an old craftsman bungalow with a barn built next door where they make the beer. Picnic tables in a nice rolling front garden area shaded by mature trees. Very enjoyable little spot and a wonderful cook to boot (man, their burger was superb!).

Ended up having two 20oz pints of their "Triple", which I haven't seen in the city before. Wonderfully delicious but at 9.1% it was very dangerous. Between the sun and the high alcohol content it went right to my head. My wife had to drive us back to the camp. :D

I wanted to buy a growler (half gallon) before we left but they weren't open when we left for home.

On a different note....I also popped in here and bought a bottle of their bourbon:

Michigan on page 3 and Portland, Oregon on page 6. Not particularly well researched as there are MANY better breweries in Portland than the ones mentioned in this article (where is Amnesia, Breakside, Burnside or even Captured By Porches?). I get the feeling the journalist doesn't really know their beer or didn't spend that long with locals who could have pointed them in a different direction. But, you get the jist of what he's saying.

When the Michigan part of the article misses Dark Horse in Marshall they have no idea what they missed.

It's time for Founders' Devil Dancer. A friend in Indianapolis spotted it on Tuesday. $24 for a four pack. My local shop is getting it tomorrow, but said he expects it to be sold out by 3pm or so. The price has risen by approximately $10 per four pack over the course of about 4 years, which rubs me the wrong way.

This is a really good Belgium dark beer. If any of you beer lovers from America ever see a bottle over there, buy one or more.
