Stupid Reactions to Supreme Court ruling re: Obamacare

Read this to get an idea just how stupid some people here are. Canada has had universal healthcare for decades. If people needed a literacy test, like they did back in the racist days, none of these idiots would be able to vote.
My advice is start looking south to Mexico folks.

That's pretty funny.

Here's something else that is humorous regarding the decision. CNN originally got the ruling wrong and someone did a photoshop about their mistake. The story about it is at: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/2 ... 34417.html

Those of us who support Obamacare have John Roberts to thank for surprisingly voting to uphold the law.

This is my favorite one: God literally fuck this. I'm moving to Canada. Jump off a cliff @Obama

Here's a Facebook post from a good friend of mine:

Seems as good a time as any to thank President Obama once again for actually doing something about health care in this country. As the husband of a woman who survived cancer (read "uninsurable") and a son with autism (see wife), we are incredibly lucky to live in Illinois where we at least have some health insurance options. Looks like others elsewhere will have some now, too. I'm thankful for that.

A little more detail on the situation:

We spend about $1500 per month for health insurance through the state, and we're *lucky* we can get it, because they allow us to get it even though we have pre-existing conditions. Every single private insurance company we called said they'd never carry us because of my wife's cancer history. Wouldn't you think a person with a cancer history should have health insurance, more than most? Oh no, no health care problems here.... Move along....

There are similar "penalties" in the UK regarding life/health insurance. Due to having had cancer myself i found myself paying tripled premiums, even though i had been given the all clear. Very difficult to swallow, especially with illness which you have no control over. You're punished for being unlucky. As per usual, its all down to money. Insurance companies don't want people who NEED insurance as that means there is a higher chance of having to pay out big bucks. I had so many get-out clauses in one proposed life insurance policy (not covered for any cancer-related illness, not covered for anything you're most likely to get, not allowed to die, etc, etc) that it became pointless.
