A real shame and a sad loss.
I have always loved Havens' guitar style, the way he picks and his singing. I have seven of his LP's from '65-71 but the one that probably gets the most spins is the wonderful double LP, "Richard P. Havens 1983" (1969). I've already pulled the record out and will play it this evening in Richie's honor. Think I'll pour a glass of wine and raise a toast as well.
