Post by spzretent »

I got what I wanted. Twice
The Neil Young Discs 5-8 Lp box. I was so worried I wouldn't get this went to two shops.
Husker Du- Warehouse Songs & Stories on dayglo vinyl.
New Order 1981-1982 Factus 8R clear vinyl 12".
I paid full price.

I have the original pressing of FACUS 8. The versions of Everythings Gone Green and Hurt on it are absolutely thunderous. It is my single favourite New Order record. I wonder if this repress is anywhere as good? Must resist temptation.....

I have to say this Neil Young box set sounds stunning. If the Steve Hoffman audio snob web site is correct there are not going to be any CD releases of these which is a shame and quite frankly stupid.
I also read of pitted vinyl copies and the wrong lps in sleeves ie: some one got the right sleeves and two discs of On The Beach. There were other complaints.
I am thrilled to own this. This will be my last NY box. I dont need $40 copies of American Stars & Bars and Hawks & Doves.
